Hello all and thank you for taking the time to respond to my post.

I am looking to start 5-boxing. I've never boxed before, but have played WoW up to level 70 and EQ/EQ2 before that.

Which class should I start with assuming I'm using a one-class group of 5? My question isn't which class is necessarily easiest to level, but is a combination of leveling ease with the ability to boost then the next group.

Comments appreciated. If I haven't been clear on anything or need to provide more insight, I gladly will.

Thank you.

I would start with either 5x shaman or 1x pally and 4x shaman. A protection pally is still the best class for boosting I suspect.

Shaman just bring a lot of versatility to the table, mail, good DPS, good healing, totems for almost every situation. Tremor, grounding and cleansing simplifies a lot of fights so much. And as your first 5-box team you would have the luxury of speccing, gearing and macroing them all exactly the same till 80.

It really depends on your goals and the effort you want to invest in.

For one-class group I recommend shamans, as they are still best group class.
5 druids are great too, but they lack fear protection if you plan to PvP lot.
Both these setups allow the leaderless setup, which is nice for PvP.
With 5 shamans you will miss the tanking role in PvE really. So taking one protection paladin as main would be nice addition and you can boost with him later.
Also replacing one of these shamans with lock can be nice for PvE. You get summons!!!, 13% dps buff, 5% more crit on bosses, soulstone, healthstones, AoE, pet...
