Multibox Daily Quest Guide
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Compiled by Chilkoot of Medivh
This guide outlines a strategy to generate about 1300g in 70 minutes by running daily quests on your 5-box team.
Each quest listed here allows either group credit for objectives or group looting for quest items (ie. the quest Retest Now). The strategy below assumes the following:
You have a 5-character Alliance team, and all characters in your team are level 80.
You have completed most of the quest chains in Storm Peaks and Icecrown, and are very familiar with both zones.
Your team is geared and coordinated enough to handle group quests.
Each member of your team is at least Friendly with Sons of Hodir, although Honored and Revered are required by two of the quests.
You have flying mounts and Cold Weather Flying.
Epic flight is not required, but all times listed here are based on epic flight speeds: add about 20 minutes total to the circuit without epic flight. Taxi flight times assume characters home location (hearth) is set to Wyrmrest Temple. The times listed assume looting all mobs, but total earned does not include loot from mobs or repair/taxi costs (see below).
Each step below shows the approximate time to complete in minutes (with some practice), as well as the total gold earned in that step, across 5 characters. Completion times will vary based on group composition, experience and individual multibox setup (loot and quest mods, etc). Note that quest turn in may occur in a later step, but the gold earned is summarized in the step in which the activities for the quest are completed.
Step One: Dun Niffelm (11:30, 198.45g)
Fly to Dun Niffelm. Pick up and complete the following quests:
Blowing Hodir's Horn (Friendly)
Spy Hunter (Honored)
Feeding Arngrim (Revered)
TIP: For Spy Hunter, have 3 different members of your group use the canine fang in quick succession, and mark each of their guardians with a raid icon for visibility. This cuts the quest time significantly. You can complete Feeding Arngrim quickly while the guardians search the area.
Step Two: Travel & K3 (~6:00, 64.80g)
Take the taxi from Dun Niffelm to K3 (1:30). Pick up and complete Overstock. (1:30)
TIP: You do not need to use the mines provided for this quest. Just tap the mobs by any method as quickly as possible and let the turrets kill them off
Take the taxi to Dalaran, then take the faction-only taxi from Krasus' landing to Stormbreaker (~3:00).
Step Three: Central Icecrown (11:30, 198.45g)
Pick up the following quests on Stormbreaker:
Blood of the Chosen (Drosche)
Slaves to Saronite (Absalan)
Drag and Drop (Thassarian)
That's Abominable (Thassarian)
No Rest for the Wicked (Thassarian)
Neutralizing the Plague (Thassarian)
Retest Now (Boltwrench, below)
The Solution Solution (Boltwrench, below)
Fly to the Valley of Lost Hope, and initiate Assault by Ground. Complete this escort, get the last few kills for Blood of the Chosen, then enter the mine and complete Slaves to Saronite.
Return to the Valley of Lost Hope and turn in Assault by Ground.
Step Four: Southeastern Icecrown (14:30, 243.30g)
Fly Southeast, obtain a vial of spinal fluid for at least 3 members of your party (all from one kill), then complete Neutralizing the Plague.
Head down to ground level and complete That's Abominable and The Solution Solution.
Step Five: The Shadow Vault (9:30, 198.45g)
Fly due east to Crusaders' Pinnacle and take the taxi to The Shadow Vault (3:00). Pickup and complete the following quests:
Leave our Mark
Vile Like Fire!
Shoot 'em Up
TIP: For Vile Like Fire!, leave your team mounted (flying) and only enter the vehicle on your lead character to burn the buildings. You can no longer burn the same building every 3 seconds, so you'll need to fly around a bit with your team on follow (ty Ughmahedhurtz!).
TIP: For Leave our Mark, have all team members use the Ebon Blade Banner (via a multiplexed key) at the same time, and you will get 5x credit, meaning only 3 kills are necessary. This little trick only works if all characters use the item simultaneously. As of patch 3.2, all characters need to target the corpse individually before using the Banner (ty Gaffer!).
Step Six: Onslaught Harbor (6:00, 132.30g)
Fly southwest to Death's Rise, and pick up:
From their Corpses, Rise!
No Fly Zone
Complete these quickly by pulling several flying mobs in Onslaught Harbor to the top of a single turret for an AoE party - the same mobs will work for both quests. Turn in at Death's Rise, take the Taxi back to Shadow Vault and turn Vile Like Fire!, Leave Our Mark and Shoot 'em Up.
Step Seven: North Central Citadel (12:00, 243.30g)
Fly southeast from the Vault, and complete Retest Now. Next, fly up the stairs/ramp into the building and complete No Rest for the Wicked. Finally, fly south along the ramparts to Drag and Drop.
TIP: In Retest Now, each mob is lootable by every member in the group, so the minimum required kills is 10, not 50. Some players prefer to complete this quest first in Icecrown for the 2-hour buff, though with even moderate gear it makes very little difference.
TIP: In No Rest for the Wicked, pick up Alumenth's artifacts from the chests on all 5 characters to create Alumenth's Remains. This will allow you to bypass the room trash on your next 4 visits. (ty Heffner!)
Return to Skybreaker and turn in all remaining quests:
Blood of the Chosen
Slaves to Saronite
Drag and Drop
That's Abominable
Neutralizing the Plague
No Rest for the Wicked
Retest Now
The Solution Solution
You're done! Total time spent: approximately 70 minutes. Total earned: about 1280g. If you loot the mobs you kill (the times above assume you do), the cash, greens, cloth, etc will easily pay for your taxi costs and repairs, plus another 50g or so, depending on luck (possibly more if you hit a few ore nodes and herbs along the way).
Optionally, you can leave out steps one and two, and still turn a respectable 1000g in about an hour, depending on your start area. Now get out there and make some money!
Helpful Macros:
You can save yourself lots of time and fiddling by mapping the following macro on your main character to a key:
/use Hodir's Horn
/use Arngrim's Tooth
/use Flesh Giant Spine
/use Pustulant Spinal Fluid
/use Abomination Reanimation Kit
/use Ebon Blade Banner
/use Tainted Essence
/use Writhing Mass
/use Orb of Illusion
/use Darkmender's Tincture... and map the one below to a common key on the slaves:
/use Flesh Giant Spine
/use Pustulant Spinal Fluid
/use Ebon Blade Banner
/use Tainted Essence
/use Writhing MassThese macros don't cover all the bases, but they don't usually break anything, either, as long as you watch what you're doing. You can work out more robust macros to fit your setup. Thanks to Heffner for reminding me to include these.
This guide was compiled using 5 Druids on a Normal (non-PVP) realm in quested/crafted blue-quality gear. For non-group quests, all Druids were spec'd Moonkin. For the two group quests, a Feral tank and Resto healer were used (dual-spec). Please send any inquiries or corrections to Chilkoot on Medivh. Many thanks to the members of dual-boxing.com for the valuable contributions!

Yeah all fun and cool but I dont think a term gold/hour should be used since dailies can be done once per day and some people preffer to do that kind of trick "ALL DAY" to have a drastic income once in a while. Nevertheless you forgot to inculde that its just doing all dailies by all your char with in fact has 1k g but divided by 5 characters.

Wow, great post.
I'm Horde, so there'd be some adjustments, but this is a really great guide. I know doing something like this takes a lot of time. I'm sure I'm speaking on behalf of a lot of the community when I say.... thanks!

You're out to lunch.
Show me OP's inference that you could make 24k in a day. Oh, he never infers that?
Show me he inferred you'd make 5k across a five man team. Oh, he never infers that?

Very nice post. I'm not far enough along to do these dailies yet, but ill be sure to reference this post when I do.

I've edited the wording a bit to be less missleading ;) , but I think it's pretty clear that we're talking total income here, and as it's based on dailies, you can only do them once per day unless you have multiple teams, which many posters here do.
In any event, constructive feedback and edits are always very kindly received, as I've only really been doing this circuit on my own group, and I'm sure there's lots of ways to improve it. I'm looking at the dailies in Brunnhildar Village right now, but they don't yield as much coin, and the goal of the guide is always to keep earning at the 1000g/hour rate, whether your run dailies for 30 minutes or 90 minutes. It may show up as an optional section in a later revision.

One tip with the quest "Leave our Mark"
On your salves make a macro:
/assist <main>
/use <whatever the banner is called>
You get credit for each member that way (5-man team gets 5/15 per kill) That way you only need 3 kills to get the quest done, and you'll get that many just clearing your way in to do Shoot 'em Up

Don't forget the macro!!
Someone else posted this in a previous "Maximizing Northrend Dailies" thread (sorry I don't remember who it was, so I unfortunately can't credit you):
/stand
/dismount
/use Writhing Mass
/use Darkmender's Tincture
/use Improved Land Mines
/use Flesh Giant Spine
/use Tainted Essence
/use Diluted Cult Tonic
/use Ebon Blade Banner
/use Renewing Tourniquet
/use Rod of Siphoning
/use SGM-3
I am Horde, so I don't know if it's different for Alliance. I love this macro!
Also, for the quest "No Rest for the Wicked" make sure you loot the items to summon the mob on all your guys. That way, you only have to do this once for every five times you kill him.
I think you missed the escort quest Assault by Ground in Ymirheim? Should do this if you are going to do Blood of the Chosen.
Personally, I also do 2 dailies from Death's Rise - From Their Corpses Rise! and No Fly Zone. Very easy and quick to do right after the Shadow Vault dailies.
I also do Riding the Wavelength....God knows why I do it, but I do.
In Storm Peaks if you're going to do the K3 daily, you might as well do the Brunnhildar Village daily. You get the $$ and a chance at a polar bear mount. Although, I only managed to get 1 out of at least 100 tries so far.
In Dun Niffelem, the daily "Polishing the Horn" isn't all that bad either. The blob dudes spawn quite frequently. So if you need faction, I would also include this one.

I thought the items in No Rest for the Wicked disappeared after about 2 minutes. This could have changed since 3.0.8, and is definitely worth investigating. That would cut a full minute or more from the circuit.
Assault by Ground is in there in Step 3 - I love that quest and was quite heartbroken when it was bugged out for a week in April :)
The K3 quest is in there because it's directly on the flight path between two hubs (Dun Niffelm and Dalaran), and is literally a 1min 30sec detour for 65g. It fits with the '1000g/hour' goal of the guide, but I'm not convinced the Brunnhilder Village quests fit that mandate yet. As mentioned above, I'm testing those out now and hope to add them as an optional section.
Polishing the horn is easy, true, but collecting 25 of those oils, especially during peak hours, is a 12-minute or longer job, so that quest just doesn't make the cut. If you've got the time, it's great for faction, but I don't recommend it for people trying to maximize their time/gold grind.
Thanks to all for the great feedback - I'll be updating more over the next couple of days and hope to have a really detailed and polished reference by the end of it.

The body parts for No Rest for the Wicked do disappear, but if you assemble them the assembled summoning item doesn't.
I'd suggest taking a look into all the PVP quests in Grizzly Hills as well if you want to spend the least time for the most money. Perhaps as an alternate set of quests. Some of them are super fast to do, but have lower $ returns.

Also, a note about Vile Like Fire! You can burn the same house every 3 seconds, so just mount your main, fly up 15 feet, aim at the house right there next to the drakes and burn it 8 times. Easy, peezy, lemon squeezy. :)

It was clear to all but those "special" empty vessels making so much noise around here these days. Apart from the completely unambiguous wording of the article itself, the give-away for me was in the title of the topic, but clearly some people struggled with that...

Great write up, I've been looking for something like it. I'm looking over the argent tournament right now to see if any of those can be boxed. =)oh most of them can.
The only ones I avoid is where you fight a npc 3 times as valiant and 4 times as champion.
the rest is multiboxer heaven. And remember once you are champion of you own city you can do Champion dailies while doing Valiant dailies for another city. And a few of them are double.

Do you have plans to update this guide with argent tournament quests? There's good money in those, especially once you become a champion and can stack the champion on top of the valiant quests.

Do you have plans to update this guide with argent tournament quests?Yep - working on that today, actually, though it will probably be a few weeks before it's completely ready. I'll likely overhaul the guide at that point and break it into 3 elective, independent questing circuits rather than one big one (it's already up to 18 quests, and may run past 25 with the Argent Tournament stuff).

very nice guide, once you get to argent champ status (and if you are exalted with hodir already) it'll probably be faster just staying in icecrown. I never realized how many dailies there are in icecrown and how quick you can do em!
I hate all the phasing in icecrown tho :(

My problem with Argent Tournament so far is that you don't get group credit for any of the training-type quests. The options are to either do them all 5-times (which is a waste of time), or setup multi-box for vehicles, which probably means installing a bar mod so your follow/target/use macros all work while in the vehicles. Anyone have a better way of boxing in vehicles without abandoning the default bars?

I went the bar addon route, but I didn't remove the default bars. Instead what I did was simply install AutoBar. With AutoBar, I made a single button bound to the 'v' key which contained the macro '/focus MAIN; /follow focus; /assist focus' This single macro will show up as a standard button within the UI, so I placed it over one of the side bar buttons, and it really doesn't look out of place at all. That way I can now easily do vehicle quests by simple getting into the vehicles and pressing 'v' whenever they break follow, or whenever I switch targets.
Be careful with boxing the "Charge" portion of those jousting quests, though, as I have on two occasions accidentally charged off the cliff with a few of my followers. haha
I'd really suggest it using a bar addon for boxers, though, because it's made a lot of vehicle quest dailies that I do a lot easier. The two Wyrmcrest vehicle ones, the bear pit for the ice amazon ladies, the jousting fight quests in Ice crown, the eagle frosthold alliance daily, etc... Not to mention, it'll make doing vehicle related quests on any alts you're leveling up a lot easier, too.

A couple things on the tournament quests:
1. Once you are a Champion of all 5 cities you no longer get the Valiant quests. This is minus 52g92s a toon per day if you did all 4. :(
2. On the duel quests if you are mounted you can not help the toon doing the quest. If you are not mounted you can. The key is to keep the opponents shields down so your damage means something.
With practice you should be able to get to the point where you can defeat an opponent in under 1 minute most times. With 5 toons doing both Valiant (3 kills) and Champion (4 kills) versions You can get this down to ~35 minutes. In 35 minutes you will earn 13g23s x 2 x 5 =132g.30s. You get an additional 10g x 5 if you pick the champions purse. For a total of 182g30s. For 35 minutes. I think it is a heck of a deal considering there is no travel involved.
If you have 2 guys mounted and keep 3 down. Knock bad guys shields to zero you could probably kill a guy in 20-30 seconds. Rotate to mounted guy #2 while mounted guy #1 waits for the heal to come off cooldown. Repeat and rotate them through. You might not even need to heal between fights and use 4 toons to blast further reducing the time it takes.
Even if you do not want any of the rewards available you can still profit from this further. Every 8 days at champion you will earn 40 tokens if you do all 4 quests available. With 40 tokens you can buy a pet. On my server Pets are selling for 3-8k still. I fully expect this to go down over time as more people gain access and the hard core collectors get their pets. I do think that you will still be able to sell the more popular pets for 100-300g when the market bottoms out. So an additional 500g minimum, more in the near term, every 8 days. 9 days if you skip one quest. Near term this could easily be 5-10k or more every 8 days for the next few weeks if your server is like Uther at all.
If anyone thinks they need it, I can do a write up on how I beat the Champions quickly. Not that I am a super star or anything special but I helped my step mom (who boxes these dailies too :D) go from winning 1 out of 3 or 4 duels - with an alt DPSing the NPC - to finishing the Valiant version in under 5 minutes for both of her toons with no help, she is even faster now. It took about 5 minutes of in game Demo time and talking over vent.
If anyone wants me to write it up, I will start a new thread.

Refresh shield after each kill so the timer doesn't fall. I do this on all 5 alts to solo-kill champions/valiants and generally kill all 4 champions without heals and ending up at ~75% health. Takes 30-40 seconds to kill each one, as shield generally has 20-something seconds left when it dies.
For the Battle Before the Citadel, I just spam 1-2 and never charge. It kills even the Commanders in a few hits and the charge always causes at least one follower to turn the wrong way and stop following.

Could you not use Bartender as well for this?
I don't really use too many addons. Is Bartender and addon, or is it some native part of WoW. If it's an addon, then it doesn't really matter. I was just demonstrating a nice way to box vehicles, not so much an advertisement for a particular bar addon. In fact, AutoBar requires a fair amount of customization to get working, so if there's an easier way out there, go for it!
I just love the ability to box vehicle quests, so I wanted to share how I did it. The key is mainly just a way to use that macro while in vehicles. However you can accomplish it is fine.
And as for those jousting dailies. I didn't realize non-mounted people could help. I haven't boxed those, since I haven't wanted to have to kill 20 challengers, but if I can do it faster with help from my four followers, that it's definitely worthwihle for the extra money and pet-buying power.

You can use macros with the default UI while mounted. On my main I have been hesitant to go to a new Bar mod because of all the UI changes in recent patches -it has settled enough now to do it I think. So, I create macros and keybind them like normal. I just make sure they are not bound to anything that will show up on a vehicle bar - basicall 1-6 on the main bar. Then, when mounted, just hit the hot key like you would normally and you go to town. You can't see it but it still works. The big one I used, which got me started on this, was my Maly macro on my raiding main, works like a champ, up in the air shooting fireballs and stacking debuffs from the back of a dragon.
If your normal /follow macro is NOT located on your main action bar in spots 1-6 whatever your normal hot key for it is should work while mounted.

ROFL! OK, add Assault By Air (Icecrown) to your list.
Get the quest on all your guys. Put your alts on your epic flyers (not sure if it'll work with normal speed ones). Hop in the turret on your main and /follow on your alts. Suppress the turrets and for 3-5 boxers, you'll all complete the quest on the 2nd drop (halfway through the flight).
Just too damn easy not to include. :)

OK, add Assault By Air (Icecrown) to your list.I had tried this a few times when compiling the guide, and always found follow broke on the phasing as the plane moved through its predefined route. It could be a lag thing, or maybe I need to use the follow pulse in Jamba, but it seemed too dicey at least from here so I left it out.
I'll fiddle with it more and see if I can find a reliable workaround (I hate to include it if it will cause others the same problems). It seems a shame *not* to have it in the rotation as it's only a few minute detour and you're already right on top of the quest giver.

OK, working out how to box vehicles is great and all, but for the icy, blue-girl bear event I just float 4 of my team over the ring while one rides a bear.
As people mentioned, you can run the Champion and Valiant quests simultaneously, and I believe I read that one of the Knights of the Ebon Blade quest's mobs gave credit for them, so you get 3x credit for the killing.

Just too damn easy not to include. :)There seems to be a phase/follow issue for me when trying this. Might just be me. I have the fast mounts and I 'lurch' every few seconds because the plane is slow but just before coming into the village, invariably, all team members lose their "follow."
To fix this I hop in the turret on the main and, since the plane flys slow, I run the other 4 upto the point the plane enters the village (after the point I normally lose the main) and THEN I start following my main.
Team members 3, 4, and 5 all follow 2. When 1 comes into the village on his plane I have 2 right click 1 and select follow. My normal follow macro doesn't seem to work when member 1 is in the turret (and many other vehicles).
EDIT: I now pick up Ground Assault & Air Assault at the same time, kill up the hill on ground assault completing the kill quest at the same time, then the saronite mine quest, then I fly all my toons up near the first turret you see when doing the Air Assault quest and leave them there while main toon flies down to pick up the plane. As soon as MainToon flies into phase I do the /follow MainToon (just a quick extra button I put on Macaroon).
Just streamlining.

I also do the 'Infragreen' bombing quests. The first one is quick, the second one I just let my planes burn to end faster ( you land in a rescue plane and are flown back).
The thing that has worked for me to get everyone "sync'd" in the planes at the same time is to make everyone stand exactly on top of each other and then open the dialog on each and then typing into chat "/script SelectGossipOption (1)" - I have Jamba - but typing this little bit into the chat while standing on each other has net me the 'sync' everytime for the last week (since I started doing it).
It becomes too much of a pain if you cannot or have trouble "sync'ing"

I do the bomber quests too. When I get in the plane I put all 4 slaves on bommer mode and have each one look in a diff direction. Forward, left, right and back. on my main, I man the flak gunn and just spam away. The slaves will bomb in a wide pattern like that and easily get all your ground objectives as my main keeps everyone alive from the gargoyals and undead drakes. 13g and 16g x5 are the rewards if i recall correctly.
I also do Not a Bug ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=13344') (Thassarian)
The trick is have all team members use the Rod of Siphoning (via a multiplexed key) at the same time, and you will loot Dark Matter on each toon, meaning only 5-6 kills are necessary. This little trick only works if all characters use the item simultaneously and are standing on top of each other. I kill the NPC then the void walker. My main takes 2 steps back so all 5 are in the same spot. Use the Rod and all 5 get the quest item (Dark Matter)
This quest is great to put in there, its fast and you're already in the area doing "Retest Now"and "No Rest for the Wicked".
I also do King of the Mountain ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=13280') ( It's pvp but I'm on a normal server and never seen anyone) It's not multibox friendly but I can do it 5 times in like 3-4 mins. I just spam the "jump" and the left mouse click. I do it after "Slaves to Saronite" and kill a few more Ymirheim Vrykul on the way to it to finish up "Blood of the Chosen" ( If you're on a normal server, try this one)
I gave up and no longer do That's Abominable ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=13289') It bugs out and I don't get credit for mobs I blow up. What are you guys doing that makes this work (getting credit for the kills) and is fast? The comments on wowhead.com are helpful but I can't get this down to be reliable and fast.
When the The Argent Tournament Expands in the upcoming major content patch, Call of the Crusade They said we would get new dailies. I hope they're good to us.
Again thanks for this Multibox Daily Quest Guide. 5 stars!

On Thats Abominable quest where you use your fleshbag to blow up guys its quite easy once you get the hang of it. Biggest reason your not getting quest credit is you are out of range when you blow him up. Charging to the back of the mobs and detonating wont work well. What I do is stand near the Left or far right of the area and back a good pace or two. Summon the guy, put him on passive and target a guy on the frount line near the center of the encampment. Hit the attack button and he goes charging off. I then target a guy on the line thats right in frount of me, and move up to where I can cast on them (30yards). Once the fleshbag gets to his first target I hit the knockdown fart thing and press the attack button on the guy in frount of me, fart a few more times and he will usaly pull about 12-18 mobs as he charges through the frount lines. As soon as he gets to the new target, I wait about 2 seconds to let stragglers catch up and boom. Corpse parts go flying. Takes me 4 tries most of the time to get 15 of each kill. The last one more often than not is just to get like 2-3 of one type of mob im missing. Ive only managed about twice to get it all in 3 explosions.

Yep - working on that today, actually, though it will probably be a few weeks before it's completely ready. I'll likely overhaul the guide at that point and break it into 3 elective, independent questing circuits rather than one big one (it's already up to 18 quests, and may run past 25 with the Argent Tournament stuff).
/taps foot patiently. ;)

First let me say that this is an awesome guide - thanks Chilkoot and all the contributors !
I get this quest done in 1 or 2 explodes. I loot the chilled abomination guts, and mount up all my toons. I run straight into the camp (toons on follow) and round up as many as I can while running in circles (they are tethered) ... when it looks like I've got enough, I dismount and immediately summon and explode the abomination. If I don't get them all the first time, I'm only missing 2-3 and a second pull will easily finish it. I've rounded up so many mobs that when I exploded the abomination i've actually had all 5 toons disconnected from the server  ... My pally takes barely any damage while rounding them up, and even a squishy should be able to round up the required amount of mobs to dismount+summon+explode.
*EDIT* this (or a compiled ver of this) should be a sticky!

My set of dailies looks a bit different, but after i did them today I took a ss of how long it took, and how much gold i made, now remember that this is gold made just on that toon, so its x5 :P
I also took a 10 min afk, and forgot to stop the timer.
ps. I'm using model change, so all my draenei look like BEs.

When I accepted all (at the exact same time), my main took off, and the rest got a console message: "Please wait for your flight window". The toons were auto mounted in the plane about 10 seconds apart from each other.
*EDIT* looks like i'm getting a "Flight Orders ('http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=61281') " debuff that may have something to do with it
TIP: In No Rest for the Wicked, pick up Alumenth's artifacts from the chests on all 5 characters to create Alumenth's Remains. This will allow you to bypass the room trash on your next 4 visits. (ty Heffner!) For this quest (No Rest for the Wicked), i have both looted all the artifacts on the toons and combined the books (only using 1 to summon) and looted all artifacs and NOT combined the books (except on my main). It seems the artifacts are lost at logout and I have to gather new ones each day.
Overall though, this is a great guide. I'm still on the free 60% flyers from Honest Max ('http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=60127') and this circuit takes me about 2hrs to do, with 3/4 of the other quests thrown in, and i'm close to 300g on each.

That's Abominable!
Worst... Quest... Ever.
It takes typically 3 explosions for me to get all the credit I need... when I actually get credit.
No matter what I try, at least half the time I won't get credit for any of the kills. I could be standing right on top of my Abom when it blows up and still not get credit. I could pull ONE mob and blow it up and still not get credit. It's still in my daily grind but it gets skipped if I spend more than a few minutes on it. It amazes me when people say they don't have any problems with this quest, especially since I ran into the same problem in Zul'Drak doing the explosion quest there.
One trick to rounding the mobs up easily is to summon your abomination, then mount up. Fly around over the area and your abomination will follow you on the ground, aggro'ing everything along the way. If you are on an epic flyer, your abomination won't get hit the whole time. Once you have a bunch, drop down to the ground, dismount and explode.

On "That's Abominable," I gather them with the pally by going in circles til it looks like I have enough, dismount, consecrate, shield up and move towards the shammies, summon the abom and fart once or twice, then wait for the mobs to get up and start hitting me (or the abom) again before I asplode mr blob. i do the gathering technique above because some mobs leash (?). in any case, its a fun quest that i like doing on my daily roundup!

That's Abominable!
Worst... Quest... Ever. <snip>
This quest and the ZD one were horrendously frustrating, and I nearly gave up on them when I did it on my main way back when.
I finally realized that you can't won't get credit for blowing them up while they are stunned on the ground, you have to wait until they are fully standing to get credit. You also need to be fairly close (within 10 yds or so). It changes from an exercise in frustration to actually being pretty easy when done this way, though it's still pretty annoying and I can't imagine this is what was intended.

I do almost everything in Icecrown, except the PvP quest from Orgrim's Hammer and the two or three air attack ones (infragreen, and Ymirheim). There are some nice suggestions in this thread for doing the air attacks though; gonna hafta try that.
King of the Mountain is a pleasant-enough quest when nobody else is around. This one's hard on multiboxers. I'm in the habit of rocketing flagged players as soon as I see them but, to date, I never get the drop on anyone before three or four of my toons have been knocked down the mountain. I'll probably keep doing it out of OCD but it's really hit or miss.
That's Abominable! doesn't seem to have any consistent workarounds to me. I've tried making sure the abom is in range when it explodes, and I've tried making sure it doesn't round up any mobs that aren't in range, but it just doesn't matter. I've blown the abom up while close enough to do the knockback on my party and still nobody got credit. It's like Slaves to Saronite, except it's downright buggy, not random by design. I try to load my party up on guts while I'm still running around detonating frost wyrms to alleviate the frustration if two or three don't get Abominable credit.
I'm doing the Argent Tournament dailies now, at last. I wish I'd realized sooner that you can burn through the duels simply by not choosing to solo them. I'm sure this has been mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but I basically mount up the pally, stack three levels of defense, challenge Good Sir Knight to honorable combat, and grin while my warlocks beat the living crap out of him. I wouldn't be surprised if this is changed sometime in the future, but in the meantime, dishonorable combat is the way to go!

It depends, I guess. Some of them are easy gold, the others, like flying off to get a sword lobbed at you by an aquatic tart, are a bit of a waste of time, but the rewards are there over time - there's some good gear rewards, if you're not farming Heroics for badges, and the gold isn't bad. I've been doing them one at a time, I never even considered using alts to fight normally. Plus, you get the pets to sell, too. I don't know how well they sell on my server, they seem to stay on the AH a long time.
They will probably nerf that, but I'm SO doing that now, I HATE jousting. I want to be good at it, but I just can't get the hang of it. LOL.
They're kind of like fishing - a lot of people don't bother, but they're easy gold with some pretty good rewards once in a while, I've gotten a few epic gems, the rat pet, the crab pet, the fishing hat (free lures), and assorted items which give you gold when you vendor them. I'm debating leveling all of my toons...but doing one was soooo painful...but they're talking about making fishing more "fun" in Cataclysm, which says to me, harder to level, so...might as well do it now.
Same for cooking. A lot of people don't level it, but I'm pretty glad I did whenever I put out a fish feast for my guys and gals, and some of the recipes sell very well on the AH - the mats don't, but BOY do raiders like to buy food!

OK guys - the guide at the top of the thread is updated for 3.2 as some of the mechanics have changed slightly. Thanks to everyone for the input and observations.
On the topic of AT in general, I'm going to be looking deeper at the new quests, but I generally have not found AT to be terribly great for generating money *quickly*, which is what this circuit/guide was all about in the first place. AT is definitely boxable, but parts of it require a very specific setup to box efficiently, and I want to keep this guide as generic as possible, given the many different setups in use out there.
For those of you who have been trying to contact me directly on Medivh, I'm often logged into alts but have added most of my toons to the 'multibox' channel so you can probably find me there.
