I haven't posted much but I've been reading and just wanted to express my gratitude for all the help I've gotten. Skadi seemed impossible for me to take down but all the tricks and tips from the various threads really came in handy and I was finally able to barbeque him today. I run pally tank and four ele shammies and I parked my shammies in the back and AOEd the initial adds down and then killed Grauf on the second pass (I had collected harpoons in advance). It took me all of last night and a lot of wipes (300g repair bill) but first try today I did it and even got both the special achievements.

I'm mainly running UP for the epic tanking sword from King Ymiron. I got to the last pack and forgot tremor totems, got feared and pulled the boss and all my shammies had run to different places facing different directions. He was still piss easy though, I just took it slow and made sure the tank held aggro and one by one picked up the shammies and then just burned him. Can't believe how easy he was. Didn't get the sword though so I have to come back but at least now I know I can do it.

I think all of us can sympathize with the sense of relief of knowing that you can finally kill that bastard. First time I tried him, I wiped like 2-3 times, and left him alone for a long time until I could get better geared. Went back just last Saturday and wiped once, then kicked his butt on the rebound. Ymiron dropped his leather melee wrists (boo). Sunday, went back and wiped again (uhm, yeah, got distracted and forgot to heal), and got the achievement on the second run. Ymiron dropped like a sack of potatoes again and dropped that sweet sword of tankness.

Now I have no intention of fighting my way through that again unless I'm there to help someone else. :P

Of course if it takes thousands of tries the fight might become easy for me but at the moment I just hate that guy so much that I don't want to meet him even to kill him.

There is of course the matter of the blue proto-drake...

once you practice a few (dozen lol) times skadi is insanely easy, I can get to him and kill him in under 18 minutes - you can skip the first two bosses too saving a TON of time (the first boss has a long RP scene, the second boss has all those adds you gotta wait for). For 2 weeks I farmed skadi daily but 0 mounts dropped :( i'll prob try again all of next week

:thumbsup:When you say you park your shammies in the back, where is the "back"? Also, when the battle starts do you still run all the way down the hallway towards the harpoons?

By "back" I mean the small room in the end of the hallway next to the harpoon. All the mobs spawn there. I reset the boss once after safely collecting 6 harpoons and then run all the way back there before he respawns. Then one shammy runs back to start the event while the others AOE down the initial mobs. The puller shammy joins in once he gets back there. Then I wait until the mobs are somewhat cleared (new ones spawn all the time) and shoot the boss down when he passes. I've only succeeded this one time though but I intend to get another kill later tonight.

Wow....I never would have considered resetting the boss, that's a great idea.

Learned to read so my response wasn't needed

Grats, guy! Like someone else said, it's nice to see evidence that the bastard is mortal after all.

I've gotten maybe 70% on Skadi, close enough that I understand the mechanics, I just need one try where everything goes right.

I just hopped on my first 80 team to try Skadi and I can't even get to him. I get smoked by the guys at the end of the hallway, guy shaman get aggro or some junk.
