Whine - Specs reset AGAIN

-facepalm- If I read it right in patch notes this morning, we got another reset on our specs for dual talents? This is getting old to have to keep doing. Dual-spec... great 10 new specs to add. Oh wait, there's a problem w/ dual-spec let's reset them... -sigh- okay now I have 20 of them to do again... and then now again, Oops,we did it again... have fun respeccing 20 times! Again! -smirk-

In the next few days we’ll be releasing a minor bug fix patch to version 3.1.1. This sort of patch is very small in size, and we use them to fix specific issues that can’t be hot-fixed. Most patches require a lengthy testing procedure before release, but because this change is focused solely on a client tooltip, its testing process can be accelerated to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

In 3.1.1, the paladin ability Exorcism cannot damage other players, but the player game client does not display this change properly. Patch 3.1.1a will fix the tooltip to display the appropriate text; it also displays an error message when a player tries to use it against other players.

While we have not done many minor bug fix patches to date, we do plan to use them as appropriate in the future to resolve smaller issues rapidly, rather than waiting for a full patch.

Just as an update. We will be releasing the minor bug fix patch 3.1.1a during tonight’s maintenance period. I just patched and this is the above blue post about today's patch. When I patched the notes shown in launcher where the 3.1.1 patch, not the above blue. Nothing was written in the patch.txt (where patch notes are usually written) so I would take this to assume they are NOT refunding talents as there was nothing in the CURRENT patch notes about it.



And seriously, whining about FREE respecs is proof that WoW players will whine about ANYTHING. I LOVE free respecs, they're a pain to some, but to others, they're amazing.

It certainly wouldn't bug me this time, I screwed up my DKs talents and didn't know you had to actually enable the confirm dialog to be able to move points around :(

Hrmm.. I'm wondering if someone got lazy. I did see the note in the patch notes that came up with the updater saying specs had been reset.... but at the same time, the note was also there stating that XTs trash mobs had been re-enabled with the linking to the boss fixed. Both of those happened in last patch so I'm wondering if something inline with the ingame patch notes didn't get fixed right...

In any case, if it happens, yes I'll whine because I spent a fair amount of time optimizing my builds for raiding and didn't have enough time to play with them all to really get the benefit of a free respeec to try something different. Failure on my part was not saving all the specs I Had if they did indeed reset specs.... here's to hoping someone just got lazy on a cut and paste of patch notes from a portion of the last one :)

Enabling the preview mode is great for specs - unless you are actually levelling a character (and are dumb like me)

I added two points - my paladins mana regen didn't seem to improve. Go in the other day and discover the pally still has points to spend.
(Silly me forgot you need to press learn afterwards to make them final)

Thanks for the pointer. I'll try it out. But from Svpernova09 ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=User&userID=9883')'s quoted text, looks like there is no spec resets. Just the tooltip change for Exorcism.

just to make a thing clear, the reason for talent reset was that tons of ppl had over 71 talent becuse of a bug in dual spec.
Spec whit 1 point left relogg and you get another talent :P
