Yep, sometime at the end of may I'll finally have them. Spent most of my isk getting implants to cut down that time, so I'll have to mine back what I spent. But that will only take a few days. Until then I'll pretty much never log in.....

I dont understand. If you dont like playing, why are you waiting 29 days to get covetors? Mining in a retriever is exactly the same as mining in a covetor, meaning its the same gameplay. If you dont like it in a ret why would you like it in a cov?

Covetor has 3 lasers, has 2x cargo space, and has a isk/hr vs the Retriever. No point mining in retrievers once I have enough money to buy 3 cov's and 3 more strip miners. The covetors will be used to mine all the money needed for 3 hulks and whatever else.

Im a tad bit confused also by why you wouldn't log in for 29 days ?
what happened to running missions to get your rep up with your faction you rolled. There are industrial/mining/manufacturing missions..i do them myself well I cook my Orca training, but I log in nightly to work on 5 accounts grinding standings well skills cook. Some of the LP you could be earning is amazing for what you can purchase faction ships and bpo/bpc's and what have you depending on what type of character your working on. I have research agent's that are giving me data cores daily..which sell for 1m+ isk each...and all that required was some mission grinding to get setup like that.
Eve is what you make of it, but if you don't fully map out and plan what your gonna do, your really missing out on a lot of easy money and fun.

Not taking sides, but maybe he is doing other things while the skills train: a different game or going outside. I mean that is the beauty of Eve, you can set up skills and you can take a break, or you can set up skills and keep playing.
One of the things I had considered was figuring out how much time I'd need to mine to cover subscriptions. I planned on grinding out the mining and then not having to log on if I didn't want to. It might seem like I was grinding to avoid playing, but to me the plan was grinding to have the freedom to not play but not having to pay real money for it.
We all have different reasons for playing. *shrug*

Hey Guys
I've tried both approaches, there are times when you just don't feel like logging in and grinding some stuff (and this is where EVE is at it's worst in my opinion, there's no stuff that's simple easy fun to play for 15-30 mins) like missions or mining or whatever. Conversely there are times when you can hammer away at one thing for a whole day and feel like you've really achieved something.
The good thing about EVE is that you can take it or leave it as you want. There are a number of things you can do while waiting for your character to advance but if the devs could make those things more fun then there would be no argument about it, as it stands now though, not playing is a reasonable choice.
I'm not sure that's expressed very well, it's not an attack on anyone, just a desire that the game be better.

Can't play my missioning characters because they are on the same accounts, therefore they can't train any skills. Thought about opening 5 more accounts, but $120/mo for Eve.....nah.
Can't mission on my miners because they are only good for mining, would be a pain to mission with them.

Got the covetors this weekend. My hauler is a little more busy, but not to the point where it is constantly hauling cans. Their cargo space is a relief. Pretty close to Hulks now.....

gratz on getting into covetors. I have 3 of my guys that can fly hulks and one finishes up in 3 days. The sad part is I have no desire to mine at all. I just am at a point where there isn't much that I need to train for. I guess its time to train up multiple dread pilots so I can help capswarm out.

I know this is an old thread but in them 29 days you didn't want to play you could have prob made enough in retrievers to pay for a couple hulks or more and its only like 3 days training for hulk after covetor so kinda a waste to buy covs when you want hulks at least 3 of them anyway.
Just my opinion though maybe i am wrong but i am pretty sure i made enough in bantum then retriever one one account to pay for my hulk when it was trained and skipped the covetor
