I have hit a wall with wow and am getting bored of the content and need to level a new team but what will it be not class thought faction. I am strongly thinking about alliance since I was on the boat ride going to northrind about to raid there starting area there. The highest level toon i got was 20 human mage. I need to know from people that Have knowledge of both is it worth leveling or no I want new content to me! :pinch:

I didn't vote because personally I found neither to be more exciting. I have characters on both sides because I like the diversity. The Alliance starting area is more interesting and looks better than anything Horde side, but other than aesthetics neither is more exciting IMO. And after you get a bit up in level the quests are the same so it doesn't really matter.

I personally played Alliance since Beta, and then up to about 4-5 months before Wrath hit I took up Horde (So I could RAF level some Shamans to see if it would work cause alliance you can't). As of probably last month I ended up pretty much ignoring my Horde Toons (4 X Shaman, 1 DK, 1 Pally all 80) because the horde on my server and battlegroup are terrible at PVP. Most of my alliance friends are still around so I decided to play with them again.

I guess it really depends on what you want to accomplish in the game and how well each faction is on your server compared to the others.

Horde because im pro horde and dont like "cute" chars like gnomes..

I leveled a alliance mage to 80 just to find out that i actually hated it!

I cant say there is much different but horde just feel less carebear on good and bad.

If you are looking for new content, then changing to Alliance won't offer much more.

The first 10 levels are specific to the race, the next 20 I suppose are more specific to the "allegiance" [and still differ depending on where you decide to level up]. After that, the same areas are opened up to both.

However, there is a ton of stuff to do. For example, I have been to Blackfathom Deeps and Dire Maul once. I don't even think I have ever stepped inside Uldaman or Maraudon. So, the content is probably there if you really want to experience it.

i played ally for quite a while, I have a retired alliance mage somewhere....not sure where with a rank of seargent or something, that's how long ago it was - it has a pvp rank, had a warrior too and a NE hunter. I really enjoyed being alliance but it struck me one day after playing for 2 years that alliance are a bunch of smarmy #%@& maybe it was just the servers I was on. Anyway I went to tichondrius and levelled a BE Lock when BC came out and never looked back, I sometimes logon to my ally chars and listed to general chat just to confirm that it's still is full of whining 12 year olds. Horde is the best, no shadow of a doubt and it's not a matter of personal opinion, it's a fact :) Any faction that has gnomes = fail.

I've rolled horde on a few different servers and it's 100% worse than most of the alliance I've played on.

I played Alliance (begrudgingly, I initially wanted to be an Orc warrior) since launch, because that's where my friend that nagged me to play was playing. So my first and longest-lived toon (160 days played) is a human rogue, now 80 and moderately geared (8-9 25-man epics from PUGs, rest still blues). About spring last year I'd taken a break from the game, the guild my alliance toon had been in for awhile had gone silent, and then I reconnected with another friend who played horde on a diff. realm. So I rolled an orc hunter, and haven't really looked back. I briefly went back alliance to level my rogue to 80 and do a few PUGs, but lost interest again quickly. To me it's all FOR THE HORDE! That's where my heart is, has always been, and thus I enjoy playing there the most.

I think there's a sense of comraderie with horde as we're the downtrodden underdogs under the boot of the imperialist alliance and of course we're better, much much better. Ally are evil, pure and simple and deserve to be wiped from the face of azeroth. <god I hate maintenance nights>

lol I was seriously considering this, but a friend got me playing (solo, not boxing, damn no RAF) horde on a PvP server (I'm terrible @ PvP) and so far it's been a lot of fun.

I would find out who wins Winterspasm the most on your server and roll with that.
On my server Horde wins unless they choose not to show up such as 9AM->5PM M-F.
I'm alliance so this really cheeses me to no end.

I'm having a blast with my alliance pallys, at level 60 they turned into a instance lawn mowing machines. they just mow down stuff in the instances. They were good before they are just awsome now.

I am only playing alliance right now, but I prefer the horde because I liked the diversity of the characters and their models more. Unfortunately, they went and added blood elves to the group, so now you have no choice to play them when you want a paladin. At least the draenei are more likeable for shaman on the alliance side (personally speaking). I'm not a fan of gnomes either, and I currently have no gnome characters on any realm, but I'm also not trapped into having to use them.

The alliance starting zones are much more aesthetically pleasing. The majority of horde zones tend to be very bland to level through, and after about the 5th time leveling in the Barrens, I was pretty much done with that place (the retarded general chat set aside). Desert, desert, and more desert.

That said, if I had the choice to do it all over again and didn't have ties to people on a specific side already, I'd probably choose horde for the toons. The areas are just temporary, and you'll be out of them fast enough (or never been there at all with RAF boosting). I think I could live with a blood elf paladin, or just make a DK tank later anyways of whatever race I want.

Lok Narash!!!

... playing horde for more than four years
... once I leveled rogue dwarf to level 70 though, just to see the game from different perspective. Left week after hitting max level, can't stand the "noble" atmosphere and some of the worst models in game (it's subjective, but humans or night elves are just simply ugly too me). :(
... so for the Horde! for the Villains! :D

Ick barrens chat. I've leveled so many horde toons through the teens to their early 20's (even in my early alliance days played horde alts to 20 or so on other realms), I really hate the barrens. First thing I do when I get there since it is such a damn good leveling zone is turn off /general.

But at least it's not as bad as westfall...now THAT zone drives me insane just the mere thought of ever having to do it again... "anybody seen the messenger?" is actually more common than "where's mankirk's wife?"

Find a server with friends or acquaintances. It's amazing how boring the game becomes when none of your friends play anymore.

I started playing as Horde in Classic and raided through AQ40 with old high school friends. They all quit a few months before BC and I rerolled alliance to play with college friends. Both factions have their jerks, both have immature kids, both have amazingly wonderful people. If none of your real life friends are active wow players, you can always roll horde on Magtheridon and join the Zerg ;).
