Does it still work? e.g. a level 70 runs unteamed with a level 5, level 5 taps a mob, level 70 blasts it, level 5 gets mad xp.

Any version of this still work?

This won't work, as the level five would only get the proportion of the damage that they did to the mob. For instance, if the mob was worth 20 points, and the level five hit it for one tenth of its hit points, the level five would only get two points, the rest would be wasted. There are two ways around this that still work.

1. Have the high level char be of the opposite faction. A level 70 Horde toon blasting a mob that a level 5 Alliance toon tapped, would result in full experience for the level five, as if he killed it completely by himself.

2. Have the level five paired with another toon of similar level, and have a high level toon with a pet be unpartied following along. One of the low level toons taps a mob, the pet finishes it off, the pair get full experience. This won't work with a solo character, needs to be at least a party of two. This works great for mult-boxers, but make sure that the hunter/warlock/death knight controlling the pet doesn't do any damage themselves. I flip up to a bare action bar to make sure.

make sure the mob is not more than 6 lvls higher than ur lowbies since that is the max exp you can get.

--->for exemple if u r lvl 10, a lvl 16 mob and a lvl 20 mob will give u the same amount of exp, so going for higer lvl mobs will just waste ur time of time.

other than that i still think that questing and instance grinding are easier and less boring than getting rushed, if u r 5-boxing u defenetly dont need it...

They will catch you and ban all your toons.

Kicksome

I think this is only banable in instances actually. Where you drop group tag, have the others kill the monster, you get the exp, then join the group again before you get portaled out.

They told Athene this is an exploit no matter how you use it. He made a video on his convo with the GM after they banned him.

This has been discussed throughout the ages but yeah I believe you are correct. Before wotlk came out I leveled my pally from 69 to 70 that way in netherstorm. The xaxxis (spelling) mobs were all packed together so I'd tag em all with consecrate then aoe with ma mages :D worked wonders.

Using mob tagging i can ding each 5 min before i have to move to another place, talked to multiple gms and all say its fine as long as youre not abusing it.
Powerlevling other ppl and tagging inside instances and you will get you banned or a rollback.

Is regular old instance boosting still legal? For example a paladin running through sm cathedral and rounding up every mob in the instance and killing them while the boostee sits in the doorway doing nothing.

I believe if you use a class with a pet such as hunter or warlock, and use the pet to kill the mob when the characters are not grouped and the lvl 5 has tagged the mob, then the lvl 5 should get full experience.

Not sure if it breaking the rules or if it was fixed, so i wouldnt suggest it
