I was wondering if boosting was still legal and still worked past 3.1. I have 2 accounts with RAF for me and he wife and my other account i have a 79 prot pally. I just want out of vanilla wow. We want to quest in outland and northrend. But i've done old school wow to many times. Do you get questioned by GM's or get any accounts banned? Is there a guide or mainly SM for ever and a day?

Boosting is fine as long as your not tagging mobs and having your high level leave group. So just use your high level to run your lowbies through dungeons normally.

I usually do

1-8 quest

8-12 RFC

12-20 SFK

20-45 SM Cath

45-60 Undead Strat.

been hitting 60 in under 13 hrs /played. My best time was 10hrs 46 mins. I usually get between 11-12hrs. Lvls 38-45 in SMC are pull your hair out moments because it feeeeeels so slowwwwww. But it was faster to just stay in there than to go around and quest at that level range.

Do the slaves follow the high level or stay at the begining?

I leave them at the beginning.

I leave them at certain spots near the beginning.
RFC: I have them follow to the area right on the ramp before those little trogg things. They stand and can look left and see that first miniboss on the right. I then go down and try to avoid all the troggs and turn left and pull everything on that side. then run back and go to the right and head towards the cave with the dead cow. just pull all the troggs, kill them all in the cave. then run out and repeat. its faster than going thru the entire instance. by running out and ressetting and pulling the same group. 5-6 times gets my team from 8-12.

SFK: leave them by the gate. run up and pull everything to the first boss and let the guy unlock the door.Kill them. then the next area I run past the courtyard and pull everything going the back way and coming back to the courtyard. my 2nd pull is from Commander springfield to Odo. kill them next to the soldiers on the right side of the parapet before going into the tower. I then pull everything to fenrus and run back to where I killed the prior mob. jump down to my guys and run out and reset. repeat till level 20.

SMC : pull the entire instance.. you may have a couple resets but you should have the bulk of the group. or do it in 3 pulls if you want every last mob.

Strat: I usually leave my guys inside the gatest that come down. so no mobs can attack them.. pull everything to the withing 50 yards of the gates. I don't do the baron's gauntlet area and I don't do the Scarlet area. I basically do the area around the service entrance. the mobs at the front door. and the mobs around the Unknown.

Sorry for the wall. I don't loot anything really except for a few pieces in SMC. and then a couple pieces in Strat. Everything gets replaced with outlands greens anyways.

Everything gets replaced with outlands greens anyways.I've been boosting 2 in Scholo/Strat lately - the only reason I clear them is, it's fun to get the dungeon set, even though they'll be replaced, and I'm hitting the Baron for the mount, so that means all 3 bosses in the UD zone. It's good exp and cash, too - especially if you get righteous orbs, and I'm grinding rep for Argent Dawn - 3 more full Strat runs, and I'll be exalted on all 3. I did 2 last night, want to try for that again tonight. - Oh, and the enchanting mats are getting me some good money too.

I've had a wierd drop pattern in Strat, too - I've had the enchanting scrolls drop, UnHoly, Lifesteal, and another one (spellpower?). The wierd thing is, on each run, 3 of each drop. One run, 3 UnHoly. The next, 3 lifesteal, the next, you get the picture. Luckily there's two enchanters running, so they both have them now, and I sold the third of each.

I leave them at the beginning.

When I leave them at the beginning, they don't get the exp. I'm at WC, the slaves are 18 now. I also realized to do most or all the instance, i'm locked out of instances for 30 min now ><

Just pull everything back to your alts. The only reasons why you wouldn't want to is if you plan to do more than 1 pull, can't do the pull and bring everything back with your character for whatever reason, be it class, lag, or instance layout, or you're having your alts help. in RFC and SM Cath/Arm I don't move the alts further in at all, when I did WC (a while ago) I did 2 pulls before resetting so I had to move them in a bit, and in strat I actually had my alts helping, although that was a long time ago at 70 and I probably won't do that next time.

If you find it easier to move your alts in then do it, but personally I find it easier to leave them behind whenever I can.

The challenge in Strat and Scholo for me was figuring out how far I could go before my alts stopped getting credit - I want exp and rep, so it's important. Now that I have a feel for it, I can pull a room/courtyard or two at a time, and let mana regen while looting.

The downside of that in Strat is those effing Eyes of Naxx. Grrr.

I occasionally let my alts in on the fight, to level weapon skill - and switch out weapons so they train all of them. I have my pally maxed out on unarmed combat, lol, she loves punching Crypt Fiends. She's close on polearms and maces and swords, too - the priest is working on maces, and I need to remember to level her wand skill at some point.

Reminds me of my old rogue, i leveled unarmed back in the day, I went to a lower level and spent a day punching mobs. Hilarious.

The biggest problem I've had dungeon boosting is when you can just wiped through a dungeon so fast you hit the 5 instances per hour cap. I run alliance toons and help friends level alliance toons so I generally don't take them to ragefire chasm. Typically by the time I could run my lock and two others in to a do a summon of the low level toon, they could have quested from 8 to 10 anyways. So I do:

10-15 Deadmines <- I occasionally hit the 5 run rule here
15-20 Stockade <- I always hit the 5 run rule here
20-35 Scarlet Monastery Cathedral <- I have hit the 5 run rule here before, but it's rare
35-45 Zul'Furrak
45-55 Dire Maul:East
55-60 Blood Furnace

Then I go back to levelling. I'm curious though what the minimum level to enter some of the WotLK dungeons are and what using those to boost would be like though. Nexus maybe? Don't know haven't tried.

What are you boosting in Blood Furnace with? (Class)

Does RAF work with boosting? I know there is a level difference limit, just wondering if there was a way around it.

Given:
Account A, main account, referred B.
Account B, friend of A and can grant levels to A, referred C.
Account C, friend of B and can grant levels to B, referred D.
Account D, friend of C and can grant levels to C, referred E.
Account E, friend of D and can grant levels to D, referred no one.
Account F, no way linked to A, B, C, D or E. (for example your buddy's account)

If A has a level 80, will toons on B through E receive the 300% bonus to XP while boosting?

if E has a level 80, will toons on A through D recieve the 300% bonus to XP while boosting?

If F has a level 80, will toons on A through D recieve the 300% bonus to XP while boosting?

The challenge in Strat and Scholo for me was figuring out how far I could go before my alts stopped getting credit - I want exp and rep, so it's important

I'm sure I read it on this forum but the way I determine if my group are in range for experience is - zoom all the way out on the minmap, zoom back in one level, and if you see your toon on the minimap they will get experience.

It worked fine for SM - but for stratholme I kept my teams close to me just in case those eyes of naxxramas spawned so I could save them.

What are you boosting in Blood Furnace with? (Class)Pre-WotLK, I was using my hunter to do this. Now, I use my warlock. To provide a more complete answer, I have every class available to me, so here's what I use to boost each of the dungeons below:

10-15 Deadmines <- Mage
15-20 Stockade <- Mage
20-35 Scarlet Monastery Cathedral <- Mage, Hunter, or Lock
35-45 Zul'Furrak <- Hunter (tracking can help you remember some of the mobs you might skip) or Lock
45-55 Dire Maul:East <- Hunter (I prefer the tracking here)
55-60 Blood Furnace <- Lock (Dot/Dot, tab, Dot/Dot, tab, Dot/Dot, AoE)

That's funny, I just spent the last two days running two toons through Ramps and Blood Furnace with my Lock, it's pretty easy - I did'nt remember to come back and see what you'd said. :)

How far can you get with the Lock? Mine is doing 1996dps right now (freaking game is teasing me to get to 2k solid), and is specced demon, so i dot/dot/Felguard is already beating something up/AOE - works pretty well for most trash, then on Bosses I focus more on dots and letting the Felguard tank - no deaths to the Felguard yet, but 6 or more mobs overwhelm my little guy pretty fast. If you're doing Affliction or Dest, what build?

I mostly raid w/ my lock. I tend to hover between 3500 to 4000 dps in raid scenario and raid buffs and no special boss mechanics that affect DPS numbers in either direction, but I can't give you a reasonable idea of what my DPS is when soloing BF or BR. Here's the armory profile: Terrafy ('http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Antonidas&cn=Terrafy')

Right now my favorite spec is the 0/41/30 spec... One of these days I'm going to try the 0/40/31 spec just to see how it works for me. I've tried the currently very popular afflication spec and I just hate it.
