I have a 61 druid and 57 mage 57 hunter which one makes a better combo with druid?

I thinking the mage for aoe with druid healing/casting mage would be main

hunter sends in pet druid assists etc...

PvE only? -> Definitely the Mage (easy cast sequence, portals, free food for your team, nice int buff, etc.)
PvP+PvE -> hunter (mail armor!)

With the hunter/druid combo you will be able to take on much tougher mobs by having the pet tank. Great single target combo.
With the mage/druid combo you get AoE, the mage just doesn't have any survivability.

You will be able to breeze through most quests with both.

I doubt the usefulness of a pet in heroics (for real tanking). Even if the pet can survive, your healer will have a tough time keeping up both tanks. I was assuming a 5 man group with a healer. In your case your Druid shouldn't have a problem focusing his healing on the pet tank. The only thing that I can see that's useful is the aggro redirection skill so it can redirect aggro to your tank... but a decent tank can hold its aggro without any problems without a pet.
The most useful thing to me is that the hunter has a group manaregen skill in the Survival talent tree. That skill is made of WIN.

Generally, you don't need survivability for your DPS in PvE. If a melee mob hits your caster hard and repeatedly, then you're probably doing something wrong. If a caster mob hits your caster then you're probably doing something wrong too and armor won't do much in that case.
I know, there are a few mobs that randomly attack your DPS, but the damage they do is never that big.
