Ok, so I've seen a few posts lately about how to multibox melee chars, and I figured I'd show a quick couple videos with my paladins. I haven't bought fraps yet, so I'm limited on time, but the first video, you can see me fighting the boss in Shattered Halls. The second video just demonstrates how I can take on multiple mobs at once, and the healing I receive.
Video 1 ('http://www.danhanisch.com/WoW/paladins.wmv')
Video 2 ('http://www.danhanisch.com/WoW/paladins2.wmv')
I know they aren't edited, and aren't flashy, but it should explain a bit on how you just do the "run through" technique, and it proves to be effective.
Edit: Also note that most of my alts have JoW going and not JoL, which reduces my healing, but keeps my mana up, but you can see I get quite a bit of healing as it is.

I'm trying.....it's my first time questing in Northrend, so I'm a bit green on the quests, locations, etc. But I'm averaging 1/2 a level a day, so I should be 80 fairly soon.

Yeah I'm slow......I can't help it. I'm having such a hard time knowing where to go at what levels in Northrend, but it's moving along slowly.

i feel like a pessimist but you are 74 in northrind gear doing a bc instance which was made for bc gear sorry i point out the obvious but seriously good job I tried doing that with my three shamans at 72 and failed pretty bad on those pulls not enough aoe i guess

I'm actually 73 in that video and just turned 73 that day.
If you look at my XP bars, you'll notice that 3 just leveled as I was doing that dungeon. I did most quests in Dragonblight that I could at 72 and needed to get the last 3 up, so was going back to do some misc quests in Outlands
I was also able to do a Nexus boss at 72, but didn't have Fraps installed at that time. The fights take about twice as long, but they go about the same.
And my gear sucks. It's just quest gear, nothing special.
I am by no means trying to say Paladins are the best, but this is simply to help those asking if it can be done. That, coupled with other posts from a few others running 5 pallies, shows that it's a very good combo, where before it was generally thought that you don't multibox melee classes.

might i suggest nisch that you use "James leveling guide" I followed it, did ALL of howling fjord and ALL of borean tundra, AND all of dragonblight, with some instancing and such... i did them all the way to 80 with my feral druid/3 blood dks it was a blast, made a lot of money and got enough gear to keep me going(farmed up titansteel stuff once i was 80 as well ! :) ) good luck!

I did at first, but kinda like exploring it on my own. By following those guides, I feel like I'm kinda losing out on the experience.
I mainly relied on those guides to maximize my RAF time, but I'm taking my time on these. Plus, I'm helping the wife out with her toons in Outlands, plus I spent an hour / two helping a guildie this weekend with an 80 rogue that was bothering him and helping him AOE grind his DK.

Someone in my guild said they got owned in 5v5 arena by someone multiboxing 5 pallies, 1 holy and 4 prot.

I love my Paly! My guild mate ( Catamer on these forums ) is leveling 5 palies now and seems to love it. He is doing it without RaF. I might have to start a team 8)

O_o O'ly chit mang! This just made me 'Jizz my pant'. lol I loved that video Pewshamanper. :D Those are two of the best quality vids I've seen in a while, what's your setups on your Pallies? all Prot, some Ret, and a Holy? I'm workin on lvling up my team now, but haven't gotten past 24 yet. I'm questing and not using the RAF xp bonus. Pally has always been my favorite class since I started playing any type of RPG that offered this class. Sadly, when I started WoW, Pallies didn't keep my interest, got hooked on my Hunter once I got my pet and he's been my main since. I want my Pallies now, but running a team of them like this is still tricky. I'm running 4 accounts, so should I go 1 Prot, 2 Ret, 1 Holy? or would 3 Prots, 1 Holy be better, and just keep Righteous Fury on one to act as the tank? If you're running 1 Holy in there for heals, how is your target macro set to heal the right target when needed if aggro gets pulled off your main when you're taking down mobs like that?

They are setup as 1 prot, 4 ret paladins.
With all the passive healing, there is no need for the holy. I originally had 1 holy, 3 ret, 1 prot, and there wasn't any need for it, and went to the 4 retribution.
If I have Seal of Light and Judgement of Light up, I get so much healing, it's not even funny.
If I do need to get a heal off, I have a macro on all of them set to:
/assist Main
/cast Holy Light (or flash of light)
That way, I target what toon needs the healing, hit my button, and just continue fighting. Often times, a couple of them are on the instant cast, so I can heal while running around.
I also have macros setup for Lay on Hands to target specific alts.

thanks for the idea, i'll set my team up like that next time i'm on them. if this pans out, i might just grind the hell out of the graveyards in duskwood instead of doin all those collection quests down there. atleast till i can hit up STV.

If I might ask.. How are you setting up your initial attack macros for the slaves? I am new to multi-melee boxing, with all my others being lock/lock - hunter/hunter etc..
Biggest issue I am running into now is getting my slave to the mobs and keeping him facing him for melee..
I am craving running a pair of Paladins, but in my very early levels having issues getting the slave (only 2 boxing) to the mob..

I got my pally team up and running now, only 26 so far, but i discovered something helpful. for melee class teams, go into your interface/combat and check the boxes to Auto attack when you switch targets, and turn on Click to Move on your slaves. I also made macros for all my spells on my slaves that cast attacks, with /assist focus on the first line, then the spell.
here's my spell rotation so far:
/assist focus macros are all on slaves only.
key 1 - Consecration
/assist focus
/cast consecration
key 2 - Judgement of Light
/assist focus
/cast Judgement of Light
key 3 - Hammer of Justice (Main has actual spell, no macro on 3. Slave 1 has this on 4, Slave 2 has this on 5, and Slave 3 has this on 6 till i change them up again.)
/assist focus
Hammer of Justice spell
I went Ret with slaves and Prot with main. I have Seal of Command up on slaves at all times and Seal of Justice on main. Keep Righteous Fury on main to hold aggro and not on slaves. With my setup, I can stun an enemy, elite of the same level, then cast the Judgement of Light and with Seal of Command up on slaves, and take down their health about halfway in one swift cast. Can't wait till I hit 29, gonna run BGs to get my cloaks and see how well I do.

I just simply walk through the mob, turn and fight. Every now and then I have to reposition, but even then I just walk through the mob and start whacking away at it again.
No need to set up the click to move. I have yet to see a need for anything more complicated than a simple walk through.
I just add /follow Focus on my alts in all the spell macros so I am always fighting and following.

Any other tidbits that might assist or make this easier?
Thanks in advance!

I do something similar to Nisch, though I usually run just to the side of the mob instead of right through it. That way I only have to turn my main 90 degrees to attack, and if the mob "rubber-bands" a little, it's usually to the side so the alts still have the mob in their frontal arc and can still attack.

One thing I noticed is that the 9696969 rotation works rather well and you're constantly having things go off on the mob. You can juggle between JoL and JoW on the main/alts in order to keep mana at full, while also passive healing through most fights.
Unless I'm getting hit for like 10K+ a pop, I can usually heal myself through any fight. Perhaps with higher defense on your main and nice gear, you would be rather scary.

It's funny you mentioni the 90 degree thing because I actually do that more than 180 degree turns. It is quicker, and it permits you to see your alts better than trying to see through the mob you're fighting.

1 more question, and thanks again for all the input.. Currently only
dual boxing.. Running 2 Paladins as mentioned.. Recommendations of
keeping them both Ret or doing 1 Prot/1 Ret?

On my Retribution Paladin I used a "/cast [target=focus] Flash of Light /stopcasting" macro to take advantage of instant heal procs. I've not played my Paladin in a while so I'm not sure if there's time in the rotation anymore with Exorcism usable on everything, I could spare the GCD's easily before that change though. Timing is a bit tricky since it resets the swing timer though, so be careful with this or you'll hurt your DPS.

keeping them both Ret or doing 1 Prot/1 Ret?Instances where you tank and drag your alt for DPS: you prot, follower ret. Everything else: both ret. As Nisch says, ret pallies heal so much that you can almost always make up the difference by juggling judgements/seals a bit.

I'm running the same set-up 1prot 4 ret. Funny thing is I was doing 5x ret till dual spec came out and I was still kicking alot of ass. 5xPallies are most definately a viable set-up. With only half way decent gear I've killed almost all the bosses in Wotlk heroics. The rest aren't really due to gear but rather me being limited to how much time I have to play the game.

Can anyone confirm that Judgement of Light will indeed stack while in an instance? I did some testing tonight and found that it would NOT stack while inside an old world instance (tested in stockades/strath), but it DID stack while testing on mobs outside of instances. The video posted here by the OP shows it stacking in a BC instance. Has anyone else seen this?
I feel like I'm going crazy :)

It stacks for me in instances. I typically don't need heals because of the fact that it stacks and heals so much.
I even tested with my shaman as my lead, I still got 4 heals from the JoL on the 4 alt pallies.

I do have to heal and use CDs a bit more often though.

Right now my spam button is: judge, DS, CS, CS
Would like to hear your thoughts.
