I guess I was spoiled in WoW and everyone on the server pretty much knew who I was, but omg the tells I get and the guild hate I received was insane. I really don't even want to argue with people who claim botting/cheating, even after I reply I'm broadcasting keystrokes..

I remember when I boxed last year I had a few folks who would only address me as bot in open channels. Didnt matter how many times I explained to them or what I said.
Just ignore the idiots... boxing is becoming more and more prevalent over there and hopefully more people will become a bit more tolerant.

I haven't had a single negative comment yet in EQ2, you must be lucky!! :P
But then again, I've recently turned off the genearl level chat 1-9 etc.. because it reminds me of Baren's Chat in WoW.
I've had lots of interested people that I've had nice conversations with.
So far I've found EQ2's population to be much more friendly (and grown up).

Odd, I've never gotten any hate in all 5 years of 3 boxing. I usually get allot of compliments on how well I do it. Especially since I run all the guild raids and most of the organized runs. And my guildies are always wanting to group with me and get things going.
I find i rarely get called out in open chat or tells when two or three even 4 boxing .... but take it to 5 / 6 + and that is when the idiots set in and start wasting time tryig to inform everyone yor a chinese farmer ruing the game for everyone heh... i dont play EQ2 anymore but currently playing lotro its same in almsot any game .. some people just do not understand how we do it and assume we are cheating

It does not help when EQ2Flames has a this subforum ('http://www.eq2flames.com/farmer-s-almanac/') specifically targeting people in groups of 4 or more with little info to distinguish the true botters from legit players. I sure hope I don't need to camp a few named later on and get server labeled as a botter by some morons.

I'm 6-boxing it and still haven't had anything bad. Maybe it's the server?

I've yet to get any comments from anyone at all. I see 2-boxers playing the alt-tab way all over the place on my server, but no one has so much as sneezed in my direction yet.

Are you sure you're not still playing WoW? :P

Hopefully it was just a bad run, 3 in 1 day. Past 2 days have been pretty good though ^^

Just running two characters but its pretty obvious that I am boxing since they are both the same name spelled slightly different (zhombie/zhombee), constantly following each other. No hate yet! but I have had a few people send tells to both characters, I assume, to see if they both respond. Fairly new at this and both characters are mid 20's.

Network traffic in that part of the work can be a little sketchy at times.

I wanted to add that SOE's botter investigations do not seem to take very long at all. Nothing like Blizz's waiting till the fishing net is completely full before reeling it in. From what the posters say it only takes ~ 2 weeks or less for a ban.

Hi Folks
Been an avid reader of these forums for a long while and finally stopped slacking and registered.
I play on Najena and have a 6 man team ranging form 65-78 and I get quite a few tells normally the typical cantonese insults that someone has copy pasted of EQflames. While I tend to move away if someone else is grouping in the area and go hit up an instance people adverse reaction tends to come from the true botters back when EQ2 first come out and they dominated areas like Ferrott. Most of the verbal tirades stop when I answer the tells the first time since I dont mind stopping and helpng them get thier kills for quests etc or just letting them finish their quests first.
I have had a GM talking while boxing, as 2 of my toons decided to fall into the scenery so I was merrily 4 boxing nearby while I waited for them to come teleport them out. He actually made no comment about my boxing even though it was obvious since I listed all the account names in the help request. He warped them back to my group and told me to have a nice day.

I wonder if the reason I'm not seeing any hate is becaues I haven't had a group higher than 27 yet?
Mabye the majority of people playing are in higher level zones?
In WoW, there are always 20-ish people in the starting areas spamming the general channel.
(ps - If you haven't multi-boxed in WoW, you haven't seen hate yet! :P )
I even multi-boxed the EQ 10 year aniversary event and shot fireworks off on all 6 toons at the same time in front of a GM (before the server crashed, lol).
