10 Boxing up and running - still need to setup maceos and tweak my UI (I need more than 120 buttons!).

This should be pretty fun :)

Holy..

So what class-combo will you use to lvl up, and how much did that cost you?

4 Mages, 2 Priests, 4 Warlocks. The mages / 1 priest (the Zins) are 60 already and the locks and other priest are 21. I will take the locks to 60 then level them all from 60 - 70 - questing and grinding instances mostly.

The total cost was in the five figure range but I could have done it for significantly less. I would imagine the minimal cost outlay would be $10k USD, assuming minimal hardware outlays ($500 per machine) and assuming your time was free and not factoring in monthly fees (around $150/month). Doing it for much less would mean you would start to cut too many corners (in my opinion).

A bit of a tangent, would be interesting to see just how cheaply you could do this. Surplus 15/17" CRT monitors, DIY mounts, $300 computers... I would still imagine you would need $5k at bare minimum. Even then...

If something is worth doing then to me it is worth doing right. Since this is a hobby that I clearly enjoy a great deal, it behooves me to do it right :)

The madness continues!

Last step: build desk.... then finally play!

Literally almost 5 months of solid work to get this whole 10 box operational..... but damn if it is not going to be worth it :)

So are you going to 10box the bc instances or are you going to play two 5 box teams and join them just for pvp and kara?

I plan on 10 Boxing AV, World PvP, EoTS (?), and run 2 arena teams. I should be able to oneshot kill anybody on a flying mount and safe fall down.

There will be more 10 man instances by the time I get them to 70, so kara and those... I should be able to get from 60 - 62ish in UBRS :) Considering I could do half of it solo with the Zins.... throw in 4 VW tanks and it will be cake with 10.

Still, even if you have the enormouse firepower you have using those classes, i think you will be in a load of trouble in karazhan with no tank and a more difficult manouver space. But as seen in the past, most multiboxers do a great job, so it would be very interesting to see what will happen.

Should be fun. Don't underestimate 4 Voidwalkers + cloth bouncy aggro tanks + 2 cross AoE group heals.

The goal is to kill stuff before it kills me :)

ow yeh i understand that part ;), but still see lots of troubles coming your way. Hope you make it ofc, the 10 part is unique as it its, but 10boxing clearing kara would be of this world ofc.

Should be fun to see your raid get two-shotted by the trash pulls in Kara. Attumen might be doable, but you really need two dedicated tanks for it, and one that can disarm. The animal bosses are probably doable easier than Attumen. I would love to see you try Moroes :)

Xzin, do you have one big PC to handle a few accounts or 10 actual PC's? I saw one post you made that listed a quad core cpu with six 30"' LCD's.

That is my main box. I have A/B switches to switch the monitors over to the other boxes. 10 boxes 10 accounts 10 monitors.

I don't think my main box could run more than 4 with enough speed. MAYBE 6 but any more would certainly not be "playable" - not that all 6 would be 50+ fps in the middle of Org either.

Are there pics of your 10 box setup, desk etc? Maybe I missed them?

On another note, I assume you work IT? Two reasons, one knowledge of all said equipment and income. :)

Nope. I have not posted my previous setup nor my current one. I may do so in the future but not sure I want the attention.

I don't work in IT per say. I am an entrepreneur. All of my companies are high tech in origin though. Although I was going to business school, I dropped out. My tech knowledge is entirely self taught.

By entrepreneur do you mean a crack dealer? You must have some serious cash on hand to do this. Grats to you for making good decisions to get you where you are today.

If I got the translations right that's the ppl who hire other ppl to build stuff for completely different ppl. If you're building an opera house where a billion more or less doesn't matter it's not hard to make a living off it.

I hate leveling in the undead areas :(

Now you're 12, it's the perfect time to run to UC and port them to the Belf starting area, the quests are alot better laid out, faster XP and better rewards, as long as you have TBC installed ofc ^^

I knew that would be suggested. No TBC on those yet... but I might pick up some copies soon. Already out of quests.

Well I enjoyed the starter zones, and the elite quests are fun, which you can tear through with ur setup. You've spent this much on the setup, 5-10 copies of TBC isn't that much of a stretch :P
