Hey,

I have multiboxed in the past (5x shaman) and considering I will have quite alot of spare time in the upcoming months I am thinking about coming back to multiboxing. i'd love to run with one of either setups that I listed in the topic but I have some questions/concerns about these setups before I actually get back into this:

1x Boomkin + 4x Elemental Shaman
Can this team clear heroics considering the recent Earth Elemental buffs? I know that using a tank will make things alot easier and smoother but I already play a tank as main character so I'd really like to skip it out if possible. I had fun times playing this setup in TBC, I just wanted to know if it is going to be viable again in WoTLK.

4x BM Hunter + 1x Healer (resto druid)
This seems like a fun setup to play. I would start these characters from level 1. I think this would be viable in instances (though probably not heroics) if I pick 4 tanking pets with Swipe so the healer character wont take aggro from the mobs. Is there anyone who has played this team in the past and could give me some advice on wether this would work or not?

Thanksi n advance

i just setup my 3 bm hunters and 1 holy priest i'm running on main account. will find out for myself how well this works out. got healbot addon for priest, so healing should be easy enough with that, tossing up holy nova, and keeping mend pet up. keeping aspect of the viper up at all times while fighting to keep mana up. and cheetah after combat to keep them from falling behind. really helps too. i'm saving my druid for my druid team like my shamans. i don't care too much about runnin heroics, mainly cause i don't have the time to. as soon as i get my hunters up to the same lvl as my main hunter (73 now), i'm dropping my healer and running my hunting party. still got an open slot for another player for now. might fill it myself with a 5th account in time.

if you want to do most heroics you need a tank hasn't changed in patch 3.1. with dual specs no reason not to get a DK tank they make for great DPS switch spec. pally a close second.

As far as having a hunter pet tank a heroic, I don't see any problem. I have a 80 hunter and with dual specs out I made his secondary a tanking spec. His pet has 22.6k health, 50% AOE damage reduction and 4% crit reduction. Not to mention the healing bonus you can get for them. My suggestion for specs on that team would be 1 "tank" BM spec, 1 "dps" BM spec, 1 MM and 1 Surv. That way you get the buffs from each tree, and still have a strong tank, a viable off tank, and a ton of DPS to throw at anything that comes your way.

And yes, I've thought about this ides and started the team, right now they are only 28 but it's been fun leveling them so far. Cleared DM, Stocks, BFD, and Gnomer already.

I've run 4x Hunters + Disc Priest for over a year now and, honestly, I've concluded they are just severely underpowered relative to the Tank/Shammy teams. Our guild stuck our heads into Naxx 10 last night, and although I'm not geared/specced specifically for raiding, I have a pretty solid gear portfolio on at least one hunter (prolly spent ~15K on AH purples). Anyway, my team was only pulling down around 6.5K dps (1.5K per hunter and much less on the priest). Some of that will improve with higher Hit Rating and such, but it's just not comparable to Shamans, and pet tanks are no match for a real Pally or DK tank for aggro and mitigation.

The hunter group is ideal for dailies ($$) and world event stuff, or even blasting lvl 80 5-mans. Maybe even farming a heroic boss or two (though I haven't tried too many) but their bag of tricks is just so much more limited than Shaman (totems, elementals, heals, etc.) that I don't see how they could possibly keep up.

Anyway, I may do some more testing before I totally abandon that team to gold farming, but even with recent pet buffs, the picture ain't pretty, imo.
