My early exploits and un-success with UK is here. This is the second chapter to that ongoing saga.
Utgarde Keep boss one down! ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=189782&highlight=#post189782')
So as I wrapped up all the quests in Borean Tundra so now thats 2 zones 99.9% complete. I think theres a few npcs waiting till I hit level 80 or whatnot to send me to a place that will prolly kill me or they are too lazy to go themselves. This left me with one quest in UK and 4 in Nexus left in my log.
I ran up to Zul'Drak or however its spelled and got the mace of quiet morning. This will last me till heroics. I do need to get it enchanted but there are not any real tanking enchants so ill prolly pick something like unholy or some other enchant for its visual effects.
Last night I hit up Utguard Keep. Till this point I had not been able to get past the second boss. I changed and added a few new macros and that guy went down like they were dipped in easy sauce. The rest of the dungeon was new territory for me. Getting to the last guy was uneventful. Now there were all these vids and strats on how when the guy shouts if your casting your gonna wipe and the lot. So my first attempt his first body died really fast. I healed up and started to do all this jumping jacks stuff and got wiped. As far as I could tell, jumping didnt do anything but just interrupt my casting instead of dps'ing and healing. On the second attempt, I played it slow and just DOT'd and HOT'd for the first body. I noticed that everyone got hit with the shout regardless and the smash thing didnt really hurt that much. Like 2-4k was all. 2 ticks of the HOT's and I was full HP. When the second body spawned. I tossed the treants at him and just DPS'd and it was over before the treants despawned. In total it took less than an hour to finish. 45min or so if I hadn't died. One quest down and I doubt ill be back here anytime soon.
This morning I got on, I completed the 3 easy to multibox dailies that I have access too. The blockade, the steel gate and the drake near nexus. Once thoes were done, I headed to the Nexus for the first time and 4 quests to complete. I headed to the left and found the book on the ground to finish the first quest. Next the first boss was some caster hottie high elf. I wiped 2 times outside her room from weird adds. I would be fighting a group and another would agro like a min later for some reason. This happened twice so im not sure if its just that spot or whatnot. When I took on the hottie, she died on the first try. The last bit when she gets all angrz and tosses you around was a lot of fun. Im not sure what that was supposed to do as it only did like fifty points of damage, and everything the paladin has and all the heals and DOT's of the druids are instant cast so that fight ended quickly.
The next boss was Anonamolus or something like that. Basically a silver void guy. He killed me on the first try. I got him down to about 20khp left and just got overwhelmed and he was immune to everything too much. On the second try, I added /target rift to my dps macro and decided to play it slow. I didnt clear everything around him so this actually caused some problems as the druids would target a rift way out in bfe instead of dpsing, so I just used DOT's and they did a good quick job of killing any rifts that spawned. In the end everyone was oom and it ended with everyone just dribbling out spells when mana regened enough. Note to self: next time clear it all. Quest number 2 complete.
3rd boss I fought was a snowball rock man. I had seen some videos about this guy and everyone seemed to be very OMFG the ice spikes will kill you, and you will die! This guy was by far the easiest boss. I tossed my captain america shield. put on a HOT for the paladin. dropped treants and he was dead before the treants died, so less than 30 seconds. It was a strait up tank and spank and spam dps. Nothing special here. Quest 3 complete from his tree buddies.
Last boss to fight was the nice dragon lady that I rescued outside a few days earlier. I was getting tight on time before work so I read up on her really quick on the wow wiki page. There was some frost debuff that you can dispell by jumping or moving and if you dont, you die. That should be easy enough as I jump to abort casting to hit my instant cast heals all the time. Well the first try I died pretty fast. It takes a lot more jumpping than I was ready for. On try two I payed more attention but still had druids die left and right but the fight was slow enough I could battle rez them and keep going. Near the end though the debuff was being applyed so fast and often that I gave up and just spammed the space bar and just used the instant cast HOT's and DOT's. I BARELY killed her though. When she died. my tank and 2 druids were dead (I was oom for quite a while) but the remaining druids DOT's got her with one at 800hp and the other with 2000hp left. Quest 4 done.
Hand in the 4 quests and that dinged the paladin to 76. Druid slaves still have about 15% to go, but the paladin got 3 blue upgrades. The druids got 4 each and one got a 5th upgrade offhand from one of the bosses. In all I would say it was a very successful night and morning. Now its off to Dragonblight!
