hate to be mr positive, but if you think instacast LvB is the only good thing about 3.1 you need to get your eyes checked :P


1. Shamans are buffed, a lot.
2. More people will be playing in s6 allowing for a variety of opponents instead of just the hardcore we saw in s5.

Does anybody know the range on the earthbind root effect? I was shocked doing WG last night as it seemed to root people as far away as 20 yards. If that's the truely the case, pillar humpers are gonna cry to us this season.

wow i feel like paper again, well its been a while since my last bg with 4x shamans and warriors+ret paladins rip me apart now!

The new earth bind is awsome, its just takes some time getting used to! :) its also nice for getting rouges out of stealth and it seems to ignore cloack of shadows!! (must be a bug)

Warriors bladestorm hurts but i went up against a premade so the gear and teamplay wasnt lacking! :) Still managed to bust some arses!

Warlocks conflag got hotfixed or some glyph!

Im def going for that stoneclaw totem and it seems like i have to start and use trinket vs fear!

My server kept going down and I would disconnect upon entering a BG but I could log back in and start up -- I only did 3 games last night with my healer partner and we totally dominated everything, I'm a very happy quad-shaman :)

For some reason i can't que for a schrmish so i duno how the new 5v5 will be.

pros:
1) obviusly the burst dmg we have now will create 5v4 situations out of the gate. This is something that will help ALOT.
2) aoe root will give us better controll over pillar humping
3) zomg stoneclaw 4k bubble ( cant find the glyph on my server yet though)

cons:
1) even though we have more utitlity, the damage in WOTLK is still high compared to the % dmg in BC. even will 900 resil your bound to get gibbed by a good dk/hunter team.
2) purge still gets resisted to much
3) STILL cant find stoneclaw glyph on my server.

Well actually the glyph mastery book is a random world drop - and the book randomly gives one of the 50 new glyphs, making it damn near impossible to farm for a specific glyph. :(

The lack of leadership in the BGs looks rather...shit and from the 1 EoTS i did before going away on Friday i recall my shamans heal dropping just as fast as it used to before the patch so i dont really know what to expect of PvP in 3.1 now. Cant say i've read many threads here which fill me with confidence either. Is ANYONE finding the PVP aspects of the game to be more rewarding now?

What do YOU consider PvP? Do you prefer ganking or world pvp or dueling or bgs or arena?

Myself, I don't arena and I've done like 3 bgs this year. /shrug :|

The whole random leader thing drives me nuts because when I do BGs I have min. 5, usually 6 or 7 people in my group (I like to my 4 + 2 healers) -- it almost always goes to someone who doesn't understand or realize that they have the lead so my shamans are spread out group wise -- my totem dropping sequence is disigned for having the 4 shamans in the same group, so tremor for example is spread out -- which usually makes me take the full duration for fear bombs.

The main change as far as pvp was the instant lava burst -- when I charge into a fight for a node I pick a target with 20k HP or less and start running to them -- I load them up with flame shocks and then pop my trinket+EM+lava burst macro and kill one person right off the bat.

The AOE root is cool but I'm almost always snared (So many DKs) when I use it that it's pretty useless, not to mention most people just trinket or racial out of it.

The toughest foes still are blood elf DKs or Paladins (the other night I was against a group with 6 blood elf paladins and 3 blood elf DKs -- that was just a painful battleground -- their racial (aoe 2 second silence) is so inbalanced against my -- not only does it interupt my spells but it completely shuts me down for 2 seconds and the cool down - with it only being on a 2 minute cool down and multiple blood elves, it usually means I face it multiple times in every skirimish -- that's the only racial I can think of that can singlehandedly turn the tide of an areana battle -- good thing we've got instant gift of naaru! Seriously though, the horde racials are so much better for pvp it's mind blowing -- the dranai racial is only marginally useful -- I bound all 4 to cast it on the main shaman -- basically it's like getting an extra druid HOT, whoopdedo.

I was doing this in small scale skirmish in WG tonight, pop 4x grounding, 4x fire, 4x stoneclaw then popped my armor and earthbind totems down and just rocked. i mean rocked, that extra 4k bubble is sooo amazing! it help stopped T7/T8 geared rogues and pali's from ripping me apart along with warriors.

Not got to practiced any since patch and waiting for new season etc. i dont duel, bit poinless when you play 5 shaman, but if im on 1 shaman i wont turn them down, helps you work out how other classes work...although having played every class in the game now to a decent level i know them most.

We dont seem to have much "action" in this forum at the moment, i like to read how people are doing, what sort of binds/macros they have been trying etc. I find myself looking at the PVE forums more these days! :x

I know the feeling. I come here and even when its busy its still shaman this and shaman that. Need more rogue teams :P The only reason I'd ever bg would be for the honour and I've managed to farm 30k honour from ulduar so far so theres no point :P
