Here's my PC:
Intel E7300 dual core CPU 2.66 Ghz
OCZ 700 watt power supply
4 GB RAM, Windows XP Home 32 bit (shows 3.25 GB available)
Single Radeon 4870 graphics card.
Plays WoW great, video settings maxed out, including shadows.
To start multiboxing, I'd like to try running 2 characters on this single PC, I'm sure it has enough power to handle it. 1 monitor, too.
Some questions:
Would I need anything like Keyclone or Synergy? Or can commands go from the main character to the secondary just by using macros alone?
When starting WoW, would I need to start the second account first then open the main one or does it not matter? I wanted to keep the main character account on top and the other characters show up in its screen.
Would I have to run WoW in windowed mode, or can I leave it regular full screen, start one account, alt-tab it out, then start the other account?
I already have 2 accounts for WoW, I made a second one so I could talk to horde on my PVP server (Andorhal)
I looked at the tutorial posts, but didn't see anything that I thought addressed my situation specifically.
If I decide to go to 3 or 4 characters, I have a decent HP laptop that can handle 1 and possibly 2 characters. I think my main PC can do 2 and maybe 3 characters, I don't know yet.
Thanks for any useful tips!
