First thing I'm doing is buying dual spec for my DK, and then making a tank and DPS spec. Already have epic tank and epic dps gear. Will be much more fun. Then I'm going to head out and see what the argent tournament is all about.

One of my PCs patched all the way., the other ( my main pc ) gets stuck at 70% and says "waiting for files to close" I try restarting the patch many times. Also when i try to log in i get the " unable to validate game version" error. LOVE patch days 8)


Soooo, when and if i get in today, I will duel spec my bazillion characters. After that i will put on my DnD: Gone Fish'n message and do the daily fishing quests and see what wintergrasp fishing is like 8) Not going to step foot in IC for a few days, and then only during off hours 8)

I am looking forward to this patch alot. It seems like some worthwhile changes all in all. Really looking forward to the shaman/dual-specs/profession/new raiding stuff. Its like a kid at Christmas gettin everything he wants only to stop playing with it 10 mins later liking the wrapping better.


I will also /cry a little. Ellay you quitting WoW? I know your posts are mostly about EQ2 now which is cool. I know I will miss your movies/advice about WoW esp PvP.

Will be interesting to just have to spec at all with so many talent changes, not even counting all the dual-spec'ing. Of course it's always hard to tell until you play with it, but seems tankadins will have it a little better off than before (avenger shield silence, more damage from a few abilities, improved auras). Hard to gauge DK tanks, mostly one ability was swapped for others (less dodge but more damage reduction) but seems clear that their magic mitigation will be reduced, overall (frost presence).

So glad my druid will no longer change out of boomkin form when casting Mark of the Wild (and forgetting to change back), or dropping off your mount because the water was slightly deeper than you thought. Good timing on the talent resets too as I was looking to tweak a few toons anyways.

Think my mage has 2 paid talent resets, and my shammy only has 1. The others I don't think I've reset outside a patch forced reset.

I had the same issue, open your task manager and close WoW.exe and it should continue patching normaly.


Also when i try to log in i get the " unable to validate game version" error. LOVE patch days 8) Issue with Battle.net auth servers being updated last. Should be resolved soon, if not already. I have no way to check as I was called into work.

I'm a simpleton and I run a simpleton system and so far I've yet to ever have patch troubles. I just install the patch in my main account folder copy it to the alt folder and run it there and I'm good to go :P

And yeah looting from main is a god send :D

My main pc is having that "Your pc seams to be behind a firewall" error. And I know that you can disable the firewall and such, but its my router. On my old pc I had the ports opened up, but on this new one I dont have them opend, and the websight is down. Anyone happen to know the ports/have the solution?

A friendly link, here are the FileFront links for the patch - took me 20 minutes to download from here (Blizzard's download stalled)...download once, and put it in your "Patches" folder, and run the executable. These have been cleared for being clean with no nasties, courtesy of the Extralife Wow forum...

I'm patched and rolling, all toons accounted for, but I'm back to the default UI, and tonight I start looking at Addons and redoing my UI - Bagnon and Bartender for sure, I need to reinstall Pitbull, Jamba of course - I want to keep it simple this time around.


Where can you get the Macaroon addon? I've looked but I can never seem to find it.
