Titan Panel - Total Gold on all Accounts

By default, Titan Panel can display total gold I have on all toons on my account. Anyone knows if it is possible to amend the source code so it display the total gold i have on toons in different accounts as well?

Easy to use, very helpfulI'd be very impressed if any addon could track this data across accounts. Since saved variables are unique PER ACCOUNT and even in a linked saved variables file configuration you will run into file-overwrite issues.

The problem with this is all addons save data to the "Saved Variables" folder under their own name - if you Simlink the accounts all to use the same folder - all copies of wow write when they log out - and only the last one stays accurate, the other accounts are overwritten. It would concievably be possible to write an application that merged the data from these files, however it would have to designed to handle the many varieties of how data is stored.

Want a test to prove this? Link up your saved variables folder and start 5 accounts up...

put 1000G on account 1, and log out the other 4, then log out account 1.
put 1000G on account 2, and log out the other 4, then log out account 2.
put 1000G on account 3, and log out the other 4, then log out account 3.
put 1000G on account 4, and log out the other 4, then log out account 4.
put 1000G on account 5, and log out the other 4, then log out account 5.

now assuming these 5 accounts have zero gold other than the 1000 we are talking about you should see an aggregate total of 1000G on the accounts, because only one toon has the gold... instead you will see that the addon assumes all have 1000G and will say you have 5000G aggregate.

Altaholic is great until it randomly resets and wipes all the data clean - forcing you to relog into every character on every account.

I'd rather just use a guild vault to store my junk.

I use the guild bank too, but really someone just needs to write an addon that synchronizes info between known alts using the in game comm channels. Then it would be saved it each characters savedvariables without the need for merginging using an external application like zanthor mentioned. I had problems with altoholic (lots of errors when account synching) when I tried it yesterday, and its got way more crap in it then I ever want.

I've been using altiholic for a long time, but in recent weeks, it has been giving me trouble and too many errors. i'm about ready to give this addon up cause it's not keeping track of what i have on my toons on my main account like it should. honestly, something like this would be helpful if it were intergrated into jamba. atleast it'd be easier to manage under one addon that already links multiple accounts together. just make it an optional feature in it that's turned off by default and you have to manually turn on, so that those that don't want to use it don't have to use it and it's already off so it doesn't mess anything or anyone up.

Ideally Titan panel would just be extrended to include some comms between characters with its already existing gold tracker.

Altaholic is a bloated pig. I like what it does and how it does it. It syncs via a private channel with allow/deny lists etc. But it is huge. With as many toons as most of us have it gets really really big very fast.

I just want something to track gold. I logged on to one toon the other day and found over 900g I had forgotten about.

Yeah My brother is a resto Shammy. Well resto/elemental now with dual spec and the only real healer in the guild. Plus dad is the GM and would yell at me if I did.

I even lent him money for his epic flying. But he has use a macro telling everyone he got a loan from me every time he mounts. Usually they are pretty clever (this is the second loan time).
