Indications are patch 3.1 is coming tomorrow in the US, the patch is absolutely huge (750 meg pre-patch, probably another 100 megs tomorrow) and a lot of major and minor changes. The big stuff is of course the new 10/25 raid instance Ulduar and the Argent Coliseum, which has new dailies that let you get tokens and buy new mounts/armor/weapons for tokens, in addition to rep'ing up with city factions. The other big new thing is dual spec, for 1000g you can carry two specs on your character and switch anytime out of combat - includes glyphs with each spec. Lots of new glyphs, recipes, talent/class tweaks, etc.

You will definitely want to try and background download the pre-patch, since tomorrow its going to be insanely slow. Also I believe Season 5 comes to a close tomorrow, and Season 6 will begin in 1-3 weeks.

Patching is always a PITA for multiboxers, so clean up your wow folders and if you haven't already, now is a good time to read up on sym-link/junctioning :)

Without a blue post this is pure speculation. But clean up your WoW folders. You should do this regardless of patch days.

Did they close the PTRs yet?

nope, which is why it won't be this week. Next week is my guess.

Dual speccing is for level 40 and up, right? Silly to make it 1000g if that is true cause then that really only helps players who have alts.

Next week would be speculation, but its about when they initially stated that they were targetting to release it. I haven't read anything to indicate that it would be released this week, and if the PTRs are still up, that's pretty much a guarantee that things are not ready right now.

That would be lovely! I've got a final exam next Tuesday that will take up most of my morning anyhow.

I did notice the background downloader the other day.

What lvl 40 needs dual spec? the only reason why they lowered the level req was because they were going to have it lvl 80 only and people complained so they lowered it to 40 but left the cost.

Personally, I think it should have been a quest chain. Make it so you had to "LEARN" dual specs and not just buy it. It's like buying a book on how to speak japanese and automatically learning it just because you bought it. I hate that dynamic in this game.

Regardless, It looks like tomorrow or next Tuesday, due to the rescheduling of noblegarden.

There is no more testing scheduled on PTR, the last patch they pushed out thu/fri removed the Blizzard feedback tool and only did minor, minor tweaks. There's nothing scheduled for this week, I wouldn't be suprised to see the PTR shutdown today. Of course Blizzard is keeping mum since I'm sure they are doing last minute full-round internal QA on 3.1, and if anything big comes up today they will push the patch out a week.

Two guildies also said that GMs told them (after opening tickets about spending arena points and getting gladiator) that season 5 is ending tomorrow, and customer service on blizz forums has said previously that season 5 end is going to coincide with patch 3.1 release.

Either way if its not tomorrow its almost certain next tuesday. But i'd bet on tomorrow, no reason to really delay.

Not going to happen. Blizz has posted blue that they will give 1 weeks notice to ending S5.

I still have a feeling it'll be another week.

I'm trying to think back to patches that were around season ends - do we have to wait for the season to roll over before we get the pervious season's gear for honor only?

Of course if season 5 goes 2 more weeks after the patch, with the changes maybe me and my new healer can push into the 1600s finally and just buy it with our arena points (hit about 1580 last night)

I too doubt it's tomorrow, but next week is my bet. The only way it's tomorrow is if they decide to end season 5 next week, which would make no sense, adding new talents and abilities into the last week of a season.

I'm betting we get word today or tomorrow that Season 5 ends next week. If that happens, patch is next week.

Can anyone on PTR confirm if emblems of heroism can be used to buy Hateful gear (as savage is on live)?

Seems blue made me eat my own words :)Yea, they do that. I was hoping for the 21st as well, but only because I wanted my prediction to be right.

I still stand by my words, regardless of when they released. If the PTRs were still up until the last minute, then its not ready. :|

Of course, most people seem to argue that all patches are never ready, so perhaps I didn't really say much at all. I just don't think Blizz's confidence is all that high (relatively speaking) with some aspects of the patch right now.

As I said in the other thread, for the last 4-5 big patches Blizzard has kept the PTR up a few days beyond the patch going live, you can't judge anymore patch live dates on PTR status.

Patches will never be done completely and I'm sure there are hundreds of bugs in 3.1, but when they remove the feedback tool from the PTR build then you know its going live next week.
