I went ahead and started another RAF so I'll be leveling at least 1 team of each class and likely another group or two on other servers.
I know Nisch has a team of Pallies now on my server that are around lvl 70 i believe. I helped him with ring of blood in Nagrand recently and when I saw his team there I thought "I gotta try it"! And I am not regretting it one bit.
For now I spec'd the main prot and the other 4 retribution. So far I have not found the need for a dedicated healer due to the incredibly OP Judgment of Light. Place 5 of these bad boys on the mob and get healed when you whack it. I rarely have to cast heals even in instances. Fighting mobs +8 levels? yawn...no problem. With the insane automatic healing in combination with mana regen and consecration instances are just so easy so far. And only my main has some plate gear and the others still have gear from lvl 20 or so. I look forward to hitting outland and giving those a shot and am wondering how NR instances will be with this team.
I got to try that once I am done with quad shamys and if I still have time left on my RaF =D

I've got a few weeks left on RAF, and I'm feeling the pressure to get all the teams I want leveled to 60. With the pallies, however, I just couldn't help myself once I got to 60 with them... I hit 63 and cleared Ramps and Blood Furnace before I could stop myself, I was having so much fun. I'm currently on the same setup, with a prot and 4 rets.
I'm looking forward to getting back on them after I get my locks, hunters, and shammies to 60 before RAF runs out (My 5x teams to 60 so far are druids, priests, and pallies). The pallies are my clear favorite so far.

No harm meant, just asking. What do you do against casters? I would be scared of a caster pat in SM. You see it, but if you chase it, you are doing 0000 DPS until you get to it. And some (about 1%) of casters actually run out of melee range so they can cast. My shammies heal in BGs since that is my mindset, but what do you do in BGs or do you plan to PVP at all? DKs have a come here move, do you just rely on hammer and repentence? I would be scared of a mage sitting just out of melee (15 yards) just blizzarding me (or any AOE).
Congrats on making a not normally make group. I am leveling my locks and love it. Yeah, I haven't hit the Outland brick wall yet, but still.

There really is a surprising amount of health regen with multiple judgement of light, so incoming AOE is rarely a problem. You certainly have to find ways to get on top of them though.

Yeah I'm really surprised more people don't run 5 paladins.
I know what you mean about not needing the dedicated healer. I originally had 3 ret, 1 prot, and 1 holy, but went to 4 ret, and haven't had a problem.
One thing that helps with heals too is the 4 x Divine Storms. That can heal me for nearly 4000 with just one hit. I adjusted a couple to JoW rather than JoL so I can get some mana back. My ret's didn't have mana problems, but my prot did. No longer do I have mana problems, nor healing problems.
Oh, and thanks again for the help with Ring of Blood. I appreciate it.

I really had a lot of fun with my 5 pallies, but I had to sideline them at 60ish before Wrath to level up an alternate team for my guild. My husband and I already had a tankadin and holydin, so we needed druids for versatility. Really wish I could have gotten back to them with the changes in Wrath, they were already a total blast to play when they were gimped.

I would be worried about spending so much time leveling all these groups that cant combat fear bombs. If your doing it for the fun of it and plan to do PvE stuff then thats all cool, but the moment you step into BGs i got a feeling you will start to tear your hair out. I know i would, i've tried it on hunters before and its just no fun :) So i've just stuck with shaman :) Although i have to admit, i do have 5 DKs @ 70 :> But i dont plan to do anything more than icecrown dailys on them. With two teams doing that i should be able to make some decent cash :x

For most casters you are running 5 auras and can mitigate damage from those. Arcane is a problem but nothing you can't heal through. I did SM easily. And I do plan on doing bgs. i'll spec all retribution for that. i would probably guard things more than anything else.

There is always a trinket to get you out of at least one fear bomb. I see people talk about fear being the biggest issue but to be honest I rarely have a big problem with it. Do I get feared sometimes? yes. do i die from it sometimes? yes. but it isn't a lot. If people are making choices based just on the 'fear factor' they are missing out big time.

I didnt feel i was missing out on anything once i started getting raped left right and center on the hunters :) Sure, they were good fun and i went for long periods insta killing peopel but I soon stopped playing them in favour of the shaman :) I hate losing and i hate being killed, it drives me nuts :D So the only real solution to stop me throwing the pc out the window was shaman :) i guess its down to how serious you are about doing well in BGs/PVP at the end of the day, i dont have any room in my schedule for regular shafting sessions from priests, locks, wars anymore :) I'll probably do 1 shaman and 4 DKs in the BGs for a bit of a change once they get to 80, but there is no way on earth i'll play without a tremor totem in my armoury anymore :>

I went human for the extra fear-bomb mitigation, but I've yet to see it make any huge difference. Another thing I like about the pallies is their SPEED, so I don't spend much time guarding in bg's. Kamikaze runs suit my playstyle anyway ;)
As far as handling casters, the Avenger's Shield is getting a silence effect! Too much fun.

So, what builds are people going to use for 3.1?

hmm i wonder how having a macro to cast beacon of light on all the differnt pallies in your group or just your main would be :)
Holy light glyph would be intersting, but same with flash of light glyph
So just to clarify Judgements stack. So 5 light judgements and seal of light is 6 chances to heal per swing??? that sounds just too good to be true.

I am thining that subbing in a DK with Death Grip would be good for casters...
Lose a little healing though.

Yes, it's quite ridiculous healing.
I just hope it's not nerfed in the future.
As long as I'm doing damage, there is a lot of healing going on.

hmm could this be the 5 box shaman team :)
hmm i could even picture how good aura mastery would be zero interuptions for 50 secs provided you have a nice complicated macro to change the auras as needed.
man the theory crafting on this setup is off the hook, i was tempted to try a holy trinity team myself :)
Oh and since everything is insta cast and you can be walking while doing it, it seems even deadlier lol of course a pocket boomkin could keep up with this style without the healing lol and give that nice 8% spell dam crit bonus

I have a couple pallies one is 80, but last night I fired up a new batch of 5 and yeah its a lot of fun. Similar to other melee class issues, but as stated by other the passive stacking heals are very nice.
Thanks for giving me something to play with.

i would think that a feral druid for their imp leader of the pack bonus would be good for this group too =)
