As requested I took some time last night to take a few screenshots of my new rigs resource consumption while running a 5box. I would have liked to see how it handled in Dalaran, but at lv18 its not really worth the time to make it accessible, and besides the accounts dont have wotlk yet. some random guy started /s chatting with me while i was doing it, and i was having bad latency issues due to the wireless connection to the router I was using at the time.

System Specs:
Core i7 940 stock(and screenies) @ 2.93GHz (normally ocd to 4GHz with a Noctua air cooler)
Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4 Motherboard
6GB triple channel Corsair XMS3 DDR3 RAM (3x 2GB sticks)
XFX GTX280 xXx ed 1gB gRAM Graphics card running middle and right screens
MSI 8800GTS 320mB gRAM factory OC Graphics card running left screen
Creative X-Fi Titanium Sound Card
3x Asus 22" Widescreens @ 1680x1050
Windows Vista64 SP1
200GB SATA Western Digital HDD
Logitech G5/G15 Mouse/Keyboard

In the screenshots, abnormal voltages etc. are required for my 4GHz Overclock.
If you look in my system tray of each picture you can see 3 number icons courtesy of Everest. Left to right - 1st num is CPU volts, 2nd is CPU temp and 3rd os the CPU usage.
First shot is of all 5 wows running in sw on only cores 1 and 2 (or 0 and 1 technically)

This shot is of all wow windows running on all cores

and the third is of my graphics settings as left after the keyclone bootup. Multisampling is at 24-bit color 24-bit depth 1x multisampling.

All Video Effects are at maximum except for 'Weather Intensity' and 'Shadow Quality' which are both at minimum.
the middle monitor wow instance is 1680x1050 roughly and the side 4 wows are at 800x500, All set via keyclone.

Last is the WoW processes from taskmanager

Hopefully all those images came out ok and if anyone wants any more info, just let me know and i will endeavor to get it for you.

EDIT: spewin i just realised task manager covers up the fps label on my main wow window. This is typically between 20 and 40 fps.

Thats pretty awesome, whats the cache on your hard drive? I just ordered a new SATA drive with a 32mb cache, hoping its going to be a big performance increase over the 8mb I'm running now.

Looking great. I'm running an i7 with similar specs except on Windows 7... the gameplay is ultra smooth and very responsive.

Cheers

Is your Hyperthreading turned on or off, for this?

I dualbox with an i7 920 OC'd to 3.2ghz, 2x 22" lcds and pull about 90 fps on the main character, with the slave capped at 30. Definitely not the same situation, but boy is it smooth.

Thanks for the positive posts guys, as i said if you need more info on anything, just let me know.
Umm not sure about the HDD. prob 8-16mb cache hdds. ive ordered a 60gb SDD that should be arriving in a few days.
Yeah id prob have to drop the graphics once i start to go to dalaran, maybe go up to 12GB of RAM too. but the cpu is working easy. Im in Dalaran on one of my single 80s, cpus at 5% using only 2 cores (but it is late at night).
I have my hyperthreading turned on still, hence why i have 8 graphs on the task manager in the screenshots.
And im waiting on the RC1 release of Windows 7 before putting it onto my beast :)

The CPU @ 4ghz:

Now that my mobo is spitting out the right voltage to the cpu im gonna continue to push it further.

Would be nice to see the results of the SSD vs. HDD.

Would be nice to see the results of the SSD vs. HDD.Which results, specifically?

A SSD isn't going to help general framerates. I added one to my machine (just the data directory), and the main difference is that the high volume areas would load faster, meaning less "stutter" when zoning into places like Dalaran (shat at the time).

A lot of the improvement evaporated lately, because:

a) Vista with 12G memory caches a lot more in RAM than the 6GXP I was running before, and
b) Dalaran is such a drag on video anyway, the load times aren't as apparent.
