So i Started DB'ing two mages last night (up to lvl 10) and it dident seem to be an overly exciting experience. Dont get me wrong i love hitting the same mob with Frostbolt and Fireball and killing most mobs without breaking a sweat. However these are the reasons i dident find Db'ing an overall "fun experience"
1. Having to constantly hit the 7 key so my alt would assist me, this drove me crazy i would start casting fireball (2 key) and then stop cause i would forget to tell my alt to assist off my main, is their a macro i can use to Avoid this delima of constantly having to basically set-up to get anything done?
2. my next major issue is questing, alot of quests i'd say almost half require me to Collect stuff, doing this x2 really sucks..(i feel bad for the folks who are dbing 5 guys) Obviously i could skip these quests, but some are really great chains for Mega xp :P Also, looting and picking up stuff, and things such as targets not being in one characters LOS is constatly forcing me to switch windows, Perhaps there's a setting in key clone that could fix some of these problems?
3. I know im a newb and am semi frustrated simply because i don't like these inconveniences.. however i am still very excited to get deeper into this gaming experience, I don't know if knowing Keyclone and wow's macro set ups will fix these issues maybe my clicker habits are making me enjoy this less because im actually using hotkeys in any case Thanks for reading :)

You're forgetting /assist isn't instant, it can take a bit before the clone actually acquires the target, if you put a cast directly after this most likely your clone will either don't fire or fire at the wrong target
And about the collection quests, they can be a pain, I would check if they give some good XP otherwise, skip them
I remember I was doing that collection quest in durotar where you have to collect stuff of those crawlers and of the other things (forgot what they are called) and it took me almost 2 hours on 3 toons :(
for me personally, and others i'm sure, half the fun of multiboxing has been getting everything set up, tweaking settings and working out/writing and then tweaking useful macro's for my characters.
If you're the type of person that isn't into that kind of thing, you're only going to be getting half the kick out of multiboxing I know many people here get ;)
In terms of macros, there isn't any set-in-stone methods of what works and what doesn't, play around with your macros, if you find something (in this case your assist macro) which you'd like to be more effective in some way, take a look at the many examples already posted in the stickies here have a go at putting bits and pieces into your own macros. It's possible to cram a fair amount into a single macro, especially if you're only dual-boxing (less toon names to use up that precious character-count ;) ) so play around, nick bits of other people's macros (they've shared them here for that very reason!), and refer to wowwiki's macro guide whenever you aren't sure/want to see if something is possible, and most importantly have fun doing so if you can!
As for looting, There isn't any way round this as far as I know but to move your mouse to the characters window and right click. Personally I use free-for all looting, and loot as much as possible on the main character, then second, etc. I do the same with collection quests ( though i try to avoid them), complete the quest on the first char, then second and so on, it makes it easier than using group loot and having to constantly worry about who's turn it is to loot!
And your LOS issues can be solved by simply running that little bit further to make sure your follower is in LOS - that is if I've understood your problem correctly

So far the macro seems to be working well, my charcters just dont fire simultaneously anymore, it more like Cast 0.5 second other casts but i really dont care so long as stuff is dying and i dont have to hit 2 buttons to kill anything...and thanks for the replies guys this is much more convient :D

yeah I'm Slowly learning the ropes on my macro's up till now i only played one character at a time so the challenge i find very intriguing.
As for LOS my issue would be i kill a target and a stray mob from out of no where comes along and starts beating on my CLone X( obviously i don't NEED two characters to kill one guy but that was what i ment when i reffered to LOS issues i had to turn a few keys off such as WSAD so i could maneuver with something other then my mouse..Ergo now my clone cant turn with out a mouse..lol, it's a learnning process for sure
with your secondary char still on follow, run just to the other side of the attacking mob and face it - this will drag your secondary round to face the mob, another option is to bind your secondaries turning to another key, I used to use the arrows to turn my followers but i stopped because it was just too much of a hasstle ;)
