Excuse the noise in the first image, and cheap beer. Just picked up a 37" LG LCD. Does 1080p, hooked into my computer via hdmi converted to DVI. The monitor on the left is a 24" lcd.

I cant help but think 99% of us are going to have eye sight issues in later life sitting that close to the fuck off big screen. :)

No were all saved from bad eyesight and face cancer if you use LCD's. It was sitting in fount of the electron gun CRT's of our great grandfathers day that melted face.

What is that thing behind your monitor? That's the computer (or one of them I should say). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129056

Yes that is my computer behind the big lcd. It is an Antec Skeleton case. It is a hate it or love it case, and has gotten many mixed reviews. I however love it, and it is the best case I have ever owned (and I've been through plenty of different cases). It is amazingly quiet, and everything is very well cooled "inside" it. And contrary to popular belief, does not have a problem with dust.

After a week or so of using this 37" lcd, I still like it. Here are the positives and negatives:

Good:

1. Big screen!
2. Can play xbox on it while doing mundane things in Eve, several video inputs
3. No ghosting
4. Makes youtube and general internet video viewing (don't get any ideas) more enjoyable
5. No eye strain at all

Bad:

1. Colors aren't as vibrant as the 24" samsung
2. Only goes up to 1920x1080
3. Need more desk space

Is your desk made out of plywood?

The desk, sadly, is my pool table. The gray top is the 3 slates that are heavy as hell. I moved houses and did not have enough space to set it up in my condo. It's not worth it to sell because used pool tables aren't worth anything. But I will be moving hopefully in a couple months and will find a place big enough to set the pool table up once again :) It has been a lovely computer desk so far.

I did something similar when one of my 22" monitors went out. Mine is only a 32" but the setup works very well.
