Anyone else out there get the feeling they don't have enough monitors at work? I only have 2 to work on, and for the most part its ok, but today I found myself wanting to drag things to monitors 3,4, and 5, and they weren't there.

I built a lab in the back and scrounged a bunch of old monitors .. i have 12 mounted on the wall in a grid. When i need a fix .. i go back there. Lol.

Here's my office. I'm a Concrete Batch Plant and Systems Operator. Sadly I'm caped at the amount of screens required to get the job done.

I only have one monitor at work. (luckily I've got a single monitor setup for multiboxing).

Sure wish I had 4 slaves to do everything I told them. That would be a bigger benefit to me at work.

I have two 20" monitors at work, and two 27" monitors at home. I find myself being more productive when I use remote desktop from home than being at the office.

IT says I don't need bigger monitors, damn them! :)

I've not worked on a system with more than three monitors, but I like my three. My main PC at home has three on it and I've had a hard time doing anything else on any other computer.

At work i have 3x 17" screens that do the job just fine, but at home...1x 22" widescreen, 2x 22" widescreens in portrait style + 1 17" square screen (for wowwiki/wowhead etc)

at my last job i was a Drafter at an structural engineering firm, using AutoCAD all day long, and all they would let me use was 2 17" monitors....ugh! talk about a pain in the ass, i had the toolbars all on 1, and the main CAD project on the other, but a 17" for Large buildings (churches, etc) was a pain, too much scrolling the mouse or zooming in and out.... i asked for new monitors and finally got 2 more 19"s just before i left, never got to set them all up though =(

i told the new guy how lucky he was to not have to deal with just 2 17"s.

At home, 2 22"s, 1 19", 1 37". and hopefully another 19 soon, if i can find a good deal on some monitor stands (no room on my desk ahhhhhh!)

I'm a .NET developer working off a laptop. I have a 17" flatpanel at my desk, but haven't hooked it up to the docking station. It's rare that I need to be able to see more than one application at a time. At home, if I'm not multiboxing, I always have the secondary monitor off.

It's hard being a "green" multiboxer, but any place where I can save some power consumption, then I try to. Also why I software multibox, rather than hardware multibox; trying to keep things consolidated. It's definitely not a money issue, just a conscience issue.

And in summer...a heat issue in my home office. *tugs at shirt collar*
