The last time this issue was visited using search was over a year ago ...

I am about to pull the trigger on x-keys pro ... after reading about them I would prefer the USB version ... it just seems more functional and not sure how much longer PS/2 will be in comps

but over a yar ago some of you felt the usb version did not work and had mentioned VETRA was trying to make it better and whatnot....

has anyone went to the USB lately and used it for multiboxing ... ? Work good?

I am just trying to see if it has got better .. i did use search function but the thread I got was over a year old

If you are going for hardware switching and/or multicasting with vetra products then DEFINITELY PS2.

If you are ONLY going to use software solutions (ex keyclone) then you can get the USB version. Just remember then you are slaved to xkeys software which may or may not run on future OSes. With PS2 + PS2->USB converter you need 0 software.

Also I no longer use my computers PS2 ports (so not having them is irrelevant). Instead what I do is chain keyboards and xkeys as needed and feed them into a vetra switchcasters. The output of vetras is then connected to a PS2 to USB converter which connects to a small 4 port hub (1 per computer). The hub is the ONLY thing then connecting to my computer. This way I only have 1 wire per computer going from my central vetra "spaghetti" to the computers.

ZiranI would love to see that.

Hrm, let me see. I went with the PS/2 because I might (HAH!) Get into hardware boxing, and wanted the option. Now I have two keyboards next to me computer at all times (I cleared my xkeys key settings so I when I needed to I could program them)

If you go the PS2 as I did remember to ditch your USB Keyboard as it won't work when trying to program the xkeys pro, I had to say bye bye to my g15. I could have still used it but you're not able to program the xkeys without a ps2 kb and I didn't feel like swapping kbs whenever I wanted to remap.
