NEED help to get up and running ... on multiple PC LOTRO boxing ... Keyboard issues - keyclone and other tidbits ...

my situation ... I have 6 pcs / 6 LCDs /and 6 accounts and play Lotro ... no clue yet how to easily contorl all at same time other than i want to run 5 hunters and 1 LM and want the hunters all doing the same thign for starts at the same time ...

help me get up and running .. im a computer noob as well very fristrating for someone like me heh

i was thinking of using multiplex thing ... but someone on here said it doesnt work with g15 keyboards?

Are there ANY wireless keyboards that one can buy with the macro capability of the G15?

reason i ask ... is I love the gkeys on the g15 keyboard but its wired .... i have my attack macros working great on one toon with the g15 and would like to multiply that simplcity x5 .. a lot of fights i just hit g1 one or two times and that is it ...



I guess what I am saying is I love the G Keys on the G15 keyboard .. and either want a wireless keyboard that does samething or find the best / easiest solution ( money not a problem ) to make the g15 or comparable keyboard work using the macro buttons ...

id like to stay away from softwar if i can ... i am a complete clutz when it comes to using softwar solutions ...

PS I have 6 comps/monitors/game accounts ... so running multiple instances is not need on one comp ...

I have the same keyboard, maybe I am not using some ibig features I am unaware of?

On topic: I would use keyclone but I do not know if it passes the special keys...

also ... i am not looking to start off reall complicated .. I would be very happy to get the 5 hunters following my LM in lotro ... and be able to just hit the G1 key which fires off 4 attacks and it be able to work on all the 5 hunters ... at the moment it works great dual boxing

its adding the other 4 hunters i am having problems with and figuring out how to make that 1 press of G1 work for them all .. as easily as possible without software if possible becuase i have fear of of software fixes heh

i have my hunter on autofollow and just hit g1 and it targets whatever my main has targeted then fires off 3 bow attacks ...



i was hoping to avoid software solution (key clone as you suggested )

I don't think there's a way to do it with hardware. Just get Keyclone/Synergy, and bind your G keys to un-used keystrokes (like Ctrl+Shift+Alt+1, etc).

keyclone will pass the G keys (i had mine setup as CTRL+SHIFT + A to R) you just have to setup keymaps in keycone to allow it to pass them. Also the Logitech G series profiler needs to be run in admin mode if you are using Vista

heh thats all greek to me .. which was why i was wanting a hardware solution .. but ill research it and see if i can figure this out is it hard to set up ? i am terrible with computers

The keyboard is easy, just open the software that came with it and go to the keybindings section. To set up keyclone you can just go to his site (solidice.com/keyclone I believe, it's linked from here). He's got a good tutorial there. For Synergy (which you don't have to have, it just makes it so your mouse and keyboard controls all your boxes) go to synergy2.sourceforge.net/.

well i have keyclone up and followed the directions up to the part where it says add clone ...

heh so frustrating to have all these comps and accounts and not be able to use them all :P

for right now if i could just get one keyboard running 5 of them somehow i would be happy doesnt even have to be a g15

do you just take the receivers out and plug them up to the usb ports then click the little sync button on one keyboard to sync them all?

im gonna miss the g15 gkeys macro ability though .. but i do not htink there are any wireless keyboards for sell that have the macro keys

Just make sure you don't buy a bluetooth or infrared keyboard.

Plug in the receivers. Push the sync buttons on all the receivers then press the sync button on the keyboard and your ready to go.

From the sound of how your using the G15 if you could get it to work across your entire group it would likely get you banned. Using external macroing capablity that produce more than one action per key press is an EULA/TOS violation in most games.

well that is good information to know ...

seems just horrible to have to actually have to push shift / f2 / 1,2,3,4, etc everytime you want to do something .. surely there is an easier way that doesnt break eula if im actually playing the game at the keyboard and not afk ....

kinda mute though i do not know how to get a g15 working on the comps anyway .. did go buy some regular wireless keyboards and one keyboard is working for them now but back to lots of button pushing :( ... anyone have any ideas to make this easier surely there is a way to set up key combos such as shift f2 so at least that part is just one key press?



the collection quests are still going to be a pain with so many mice ... i still will need to figure out a way to run the different pcs with one mouse ... its hard to figure outon different pcs most everything in the search seems geared towards running several instances on one PC which is not really an option in LOTRO becuase its more of a resource hog than WOW

Thats not true, I was on the phone recently with Turbine due to some account billing issues and while I had them there let them know I was a boxer and if they could note it. They said they couldn't but then I asked them if my boxing was a problem and they said no. As long as your actlvely playing keystroke action even if it goes to 2 to 6 characters thats fine. Its only when you are hitting 1 key and it does several actions. Thats considered a form of automating is against the rules.

What I did to run a hunter and minstrel together was use the num keys for the minstrel abilities and then set them up on the quickslots 49 and up. Its from this I can pop my ministrel in and out of warspeech and fight. I use the minstrel's fear alot with the Hunter's heartseaker so that it can't be slowed or even interupted. I was suprised on how well it works. Now something that might help you is to run 2 accounts per PC reducing the amount required to do what your trying to do is the use of Innerspace which allows multiple instances on 1 system. I would be interested in seeing you run this setup so if you do let me know I might make a toon on that server just to see you in action.

I have the wireless keyboard taking inputs on the other accounts ... but how do you do stuff on the individual comps ( keyboard wise if you need to )



is anyoen using a g15 keyboard multiboxing ? i just cant make it work ...

Hi all, new to forums, been reading a while. I am currently dual boxing using a G11 keyboard. It is the same as the original G15, just without the lcd screen. I will give you a more detailed write up when I post how I'm doing everything real soon.

As Promised, I worked diligently last night (Lotro servers were down) to do a how to for lotro. If you want, go take a look at my thread, it should help you get the basics of how to get the commands going out from a single pc. I have a bit more to add in there, but I should be able to get that done in the next couple of days. Also, if you are 5/6 boxing, I would look at a gaming KVM switch. There are posts on the forums from the company that make them.
