Hi!

I've just got a quick question for those of you who have leveled with RAF. I've checked the various guides and stickies and wiki, but I couldn't find anything that answered my question.

Instead of quad boxing, a friend and I are each going to dual box a pair of characters. We're going to quest mostly, and use the RAF TourGuide Guide from these forums.

Would it be faster for us to quest-level as a party of four characters, or would it be faster for us to each dual box our own pair of characters? Does it matter?

If you are all the same level you will gain more xp from the group xp bonus by being 1 group. But with the RAF bonus you probably wont really notice either way :)

Hmm, that sounds right. But when I've leveled with a friend (normal, not boosted with RAF), and we are two people in our party, we received substantially less exp per mob than someone solo, even with the grouping bonus. Would this trend continue with four people? Or does RAF act as if you're getting SoloXPx3 or GroupedXPx3?

Yeah you'll still get less xp normally in a grp then you will solo... but with RAF you have to be grped with at least 1 other person... and you get more grp xp bonus the fuller the grp is if everyone is of similar level.

I can't really speak on TBC but in azeroth I leveled several teams.. Started dualboxing and later added 2 more.. my teams that I leveled dual boxing finished to 60 faster than my quad group. I hit 60 in felwood with leftover quests.. and my quad group hit 60 in winterspring. I would do the 2x group .. and then meet up at 60 to go from there. My guys all ran the same quest pattern from 34-60. Up until 34 they were all instance boosting.

As I understand it it works like this:

2 players in a group split the XP from a mob 50/50

4 players in a group split 1.3(?) times the XP from a mob evenly

Thus 4 playes earn more XP overall but it is spread out so they earn less individually per mob

However 4 players WILL nuke a mob faster than 2 players - wether that balances out or not depends on how you play/wether you are questing or grinding/what classes you use/etc and also on how well the two of you co-ordinate together or if you'd have more time to play separately than together

To summarise - just do what feels best as the difference between the two situations is either marginal or dependent on other factors

My best time from 1 to 60 with a 5 man team all with RAF was 2 days 8 hours played.
Can you do that solo? 8)

Im not gonna lie but Im too lazy to read all the post but yes more people with down the exp but the RaF will put it up by abit. So what you would get normaly with 4 people you would have that x3... but the quest exp is still the same.

So you just need to ask yourself if you would be killing fast enough in the 4 man group over what you would be in a 2 man group. Either way it would probably just be more fun to do it together.
