Hi.
I'm planning to upgrade my dualboxing team.
In the last few weeks, i have sucessfully played a 80 mage and priest combo.
It was very nice to level the combo from 1 to 80.
I think, I will move my 80 warlock to a new account and setup the team like this:
1 Priest
2 Mages
1 Warlock
I like to farm mostly effictive. PVP isn't interesting me.
But now, a question is open.
When I play nordend 5-player instances, a tank is necessary. And a DPS Tank is fine.
But the choice of the tank is not easy. What class should I take?
A pally should be very nice for the team.
But a DK is very nice too.
Both have a good buff for casters.
What would YOU take?
Greetings taketwo
Pally: easier to manage (one button tanking macro), useful caster buffs, more survivability(my opinion)
DK: slightly harder to manage, more dps, slightly less survivability(my opinion)
Warrior: haven't played with one since BC
Druid: same as warrior

Actually I would change Dk to more survivability. Having like 3 oh shit buttons that have very short cooldowns is amazing.

I agree with Multibocks, though this an area getting significantly nerfed in 3.1. Avoidance on DK tanks is really out of line with the other classes atm.
I've done WOTLK heroics with 4 ele shammies and tried BOTH a DK and pally tank. There's really not much difference when it comes down to it. You can make single button tanking macros that work fine for either class.
Both have some things which are nice: DKs have spell damage buff, targeted AoE, a nice pull (DG) for casters, while pallies have the best group-oriented buffs, can cleanse, and have a nice multitarget taunt.
Either will work fine for a team. Choose based on what you think would be more fun for you to play.

I agree with Zal
Pally = 1 button tank. Also this dude has a ton of buffs.
Dk = I usually use 3 buttons. (3rd for DnD) This guy has 3 OHH shit buttons as Multibocks stated.
Warrior i have not been using in Wotlk more then when i raid with the guild. in my opinion this is the best singel target tank.
Druid, i have no XP using a druid, only what i have read so ill leave this for now.. in 3.1 they get some changes so it might not be a bad choise though.
It really comes down to what you want to play.

I'd recommend a paladin or DK also, simply for the fact that they have a nice aoe that lays on the ground and grabs adds.
There are many instances in the expansion where adds will come out and you need to grab them. Trying to time a thunderclap or other aoe on a warrior or druid to grab the adds is a chore. With a paladin or DK you just throw down your aoe, they run through it and insta-aggro on your tank.
No more worrying about them running straight to your clothies or (in the case of violet hold) running past your group and damaging the thing you are supposed to be protecting.
That's honestly my only complaint with my warrior - he holds aggro well and does a good job (spell interrupts are nice as well), but dealing with adds that walk past him is a pita.
