Hello at all.

First, I'm sorry for my poor english. It's not very good. I hope, you excuse that.

I want to start with multiboxing.
In the last few month, I played sucessfully in a dualboxing setup.
I use my own software for dualboxig. I have written a small program and a addon. My software sends the keys to all wow clients, but not als-it. I have integrated some kind of logic to make it easier to control different chars. I know, keyclone can do this too, but keyclone is costing money :)

I played a Mage and a Priest from lvl 1 to 80. It was very nice to level and play with this combo.

But, I have problems to play instances alone. I'm missing a tank :) So i want to upgrade my setup.

The first question is, should i upgrade my existing mage-priest combo with a tank and play 3 chars?
I could leveling my 60 pala or my 60 druid to lvl 80 and use it as tank.
But is that good? Is a that char team good enough for farming in nordend 5-player instances?
Or should I better create a new, optimized multiboxing team?
I don't want to play PVP.
I only want to farm high effectivly.
What is the best 5 charakter multiboxing team for that use?
Is it good to play different classes as toons like 3 mages and one priest? or better 4 shamans?
A lot of multiboxers have one main char, and 4 toons. The toons are the same class often. Easier to control, is that the reason?
What's the best main and tank class? Paladin or druid? Or another class?

Thank you and have fun with your multiboxing team.

For 3, I wouldn't necessarily get a tank - I would get a high-defense DPS. If you get something like a death knight, maybe the difference is minimal. But something like a ret paladin would be fine (for that just pop righteous fury - voila, you hold the aggro off the squishy guys).

For 5, there isn't really a "best" and there are many things that work. Four shamans + Tank is an easy answer. Trinity groups in the form of tank + three dps + healer are usually fine too (with the usual proviso against multiple melee of course).

Thank you for your answer. What classes are you playing in your team?

Is a ret pala fine for tanking the mages focus damage?
1 ret pala, 1 discipline priest and the rest mages, should be a nice team. With this nice buffs, the mages are not oom so fast.
I think, it is more easier to control caster classes, shamanes could be more difficult.
Macros based on /castsequence are very nice.

I'm not really a good one to ask about teams. I made the mistake of getting one of everything during RAF...or should I say five of everything...so I alt around way, way too much.

You could go retadin + 3x mage + disc priest for quests/pvp and respec to prot and holy respectively for dungeon running if you want those classes.

When I do this setup, I could use my old team. I have to level only 3 additional characters.
Pala from 60 to 80, and 2 new mages.
Or I use my 80 warlock instead of a mage.
The difference between demon / destruction warlock and mage is not so much. Both are ranged nukers.
It shold be good to control?

I Think, I will move the Warlock to a new account.
Then, I level up one additional new mage with Recruit A Friend.

And then, I setup the Team like this:

1 Tank (pally or DK)
2 Mages
1 Warlock
1 Priest

If this team fails, I will test the shammy team.

Greetings taketwo.

You could certainly make that work.

Mixing up your DPS section adds some complexity to planning out your macros and so forth, but adds extra buff lines and utility options. One BIG thing that warlock gives you is wipe recovery (actually, the paladin does too somewhat). You also get options like the imp buff...also destro locks are getting replenishment which you would otherwise need to spec a mage frost to get. I'd go fire/fire/destro with those guys like this. Death Knight would be nice for Ebon Plague, anti-magic bubble, more DPS, and so forth...Paladins have a variety of helpful buffs and some good "oh shit" tools. I'd go with the DK personally, but if you're leveling the others from 1 then you might as well drag a paladin up to 60 then swap so you have it well-started and tested out.
