So I installed Windows 7 x64 bit. 8g of ram and a Q9550 cpu. The default video card in the box is a Gforce 8600 OTC. I can 5 box all on one monitor and not have any issues worth complaining about other than screen real estate being used up. So I hooked up a second monitor and moved some of the windows there and it brought the frame rate to its knees. From 30-45ish to 10 or less. Even if I only had two instances of WOW going, one on each monitor the FPS dropped to 10 or less. So I tossed in a second video card. A Gforce 7900GT and hooked the other monitor up to it and got the same results.

Im scratching my head on why it would do that with a second video card installed as I can see a single card spliting its resources in half. The only other thing I can can see to blame is Windows 7. Anyone else useing multipal monitors on one box and it all working fine? If so, how do you have it set up?

not sure about win 7 but i know in XP you have to change the dual monitors to the widespan or whatever in order to fix that.

on vista the multiple monitor setup is called Dual- View. (it should be the same on Windows 7)

it should give you the option to configure each card seperatly.

is each card showing on the device manager?

does the Nvidia software give you the dual-view configuration options?
