Just got this in email, thought Id share it for anyone looking to add some actually decent and super cheap boxes to your setup.

Let me know if this link doesn't work for some reason.

It'd need a cheap graphics card as well, but that'd be a decent setup :-)

Don't shop at or support Tiger Direct. Awful company.

Don't shop at or support Tiger Direct. Awful company.

My buddy from back in high school used to work at TD's big distro center on the East coast. He's regailed me with stories of horror and terror from the warehouse: dropped cases, disgruntled employees, and bad pay periods. Xzin's got the right idea here.

My old boss was also a commercial reseller for computer components and pre-assembled systems. He had a commercial account with TD for years and hated every minute of it. His rep within TD was an absolute dick and getting anything shipped 2- or 3-day ground was a logistical nightmare.

That's why I use Newegg.

any company can employ dicks, or have crappy shipping policies. I've had both tigerdirect and newegg ship products to me, without requiring a signature, both were stolen.. I've also had orders with both that i got overnight at no charge, exactly as ordered. Unfortunatley most people will be more than happy to share stories about bad experiences, but hardly share the positive ones.

if its critical you get it fast, get it local... Plenty of mom and pop shops around, someone's got the part you'd need that day.

Not a lot (any) mom and pops carry $300 motherboards.

With being as impatient as I am Tiger Direct is the way for me to go. Since I live in Wisconsin and nearly everything ships from their warehouse by Chicago I wind up with everything next day.

However, the never needing a signature has always been an issue, to date I havn't had any problems. *knocks on wood*

But in reality if they wern't so close I would only use Newegg, it seems that everybody has a horror story dealing with Tiger Direct.
