Finally got the nerve to try it again after a 'lil bit better gear. Had a wipe which I nearly couldn't recover from (shammies kept getting in combat trying to rez) while still at the 'scourge wave' part. Had another 2 deaths (tank and resto) during the fire phase, luckily Arthas had enough hpz to let me get out of combat to rez them. The bosses were actually a joke compared to other bosses I've cleared.
My only question is...How in the world did Hachoo do the timed achievement?? My girls had to drink about every 3rd wave.

It is possible to gear well enough to be able to chain cast LB without losing mana. I would assume that would play a part, plus potions.
I know that if I am only casting LB, my mana bar hardly drops.

Drop 4x mana spring totem at every fight, use thunderstorm every single time its available, and cast water shield constantly :) I drink at only 2 spots: Right after killing the first boss where you have to wait anyway, and at the town hall while waiting for arthas to show up.

Is the timed achievement going to still be possible post 3.1 with the mana totem nerf? for the average player I might add...

i do timed event with healing tots down so... probably :)
I did flask up the first time that I completed it within the time limit though (that was before the sham started getting raid gear)

How do you handle the mana burn? Is it because you run a pally?

Not sure that I've ever noticed an issue with manaburn TBH.

For those that might have problems with this in 3.1 with only being able to use a single mana totem, try the following:
Glyph for TS so you can use it more often to regain mana
Drink a runic mana potion every time the cooldown is up (this alone will probably be enough to keep your mana "ok" combined with 1 mana spring totem and lots of thunderstorms).
Also if you drop 1x mana spring + 3x healing stream for each fight it could actually save quite a bit of mana - no more chain healing when your clones get swarmed by zombies, and less healing on the tank as well.

i've 4 manned CoT and gotten bronze drake dead with still 5 mins left so it's definitely going to be doable after 3.1, especially if DPS is upped a little. Simple trick is just to take 2-3 stacks of mage food and spam drink whenever you possibly can. I've also never ever dropped a mana totem in any heroic (I don't even have a key for it, lol), it really helps to have a easy key to pop watershield back up -- WS and Thunderstorm are a much, much bigger source of mana than spring.
chain heal is a big drain on mana, if only one person is taking damage you shouldn't really be chain healing.
I've just started clearing Time H CoS. So far i have 3 bronze drakes, with my team being pally tank and 3 ele shamans (i have to pug some random healer). I don't really get how anyone is having mana issues. I'm not even using thunderstorm and at 100% mana near constantly from mana totem, water shield, and blessing of wisdom.

#2 is blessing of wisdom - a lot of people are running DK tanks which reduces the mana capability of the shamans a bit at the benefit of having +13% damage across the board.

My strategy:
Charge entire group into trash waves - drop 4x magma totems. DPS and have heal spam chain heal. Everything dies really fast.
Every boss = heroism. (although next patch this might not work)The shorter CD on heroism but longer duration of exhausted will definitely be "interesting" -- you definitely want heroism on the 3rd boss. You don't need it on the others, but I think there's enough time between first and 3rd bosses to use it on the abom as well.

Just make sure you blow T-Storm every cooldown (Which should be almost every pull), just try not to waste it.

The good news is the TS glyph in 3.1 will reduce the cooldown by 10 secs...should somewhat make up for the mana totems no longer stacking.
Cheers,
S.

Only problem with the TS glyph is it no longer knocks back (if it's the same one I'm thinking of). That's also a nice "O Shi" button if my tank briefly loses aggro.
