Well, I've come aways since my last post. Thank you very much to everyone for the helpful advice. Thanks Hachoo for your videos, I have found them to be extremely helpful.

I've cleared Heroic UK, but Prince Keleseth is always a tough fight. Frost Tombs just seem to rock my world. I have read about putting a "/target Frost Tomb" line in my DPS macro, but haven't seen any actual macro, so I'm curious to know if anyone has tried this. RIght now, I do have a target Frost Tomb macro for my DK and then the shaman assist him to nuke it down.

But, perhaps this would be an improvement. Or would it not work?

/target Frost Tomb
/cast Lightning bolt
/cast [target=focustarget] Lightning Bolt

Watching Hachoo's videos, it just seems like he blows Prince Keleseth apart real fast, or perhaps the magma totems take it out. My fights go on a bit longer, and it seems like Prince Keleseth likes to put a Frost Tomb on the same target twice in quick succession. Perhaps that is just my bad luck.

Anyway, I've been able to kill this boss, but I'm interested in making the outcome a bit more predictable.

My video I actually ignored the frost tombs to try for the achievement (i must have killed one though because I didn't get it).

Best method IMO when you first start out is to drop 4x fire elemental totems (and don't forget 4 healing stream totems). Basically run to the boss with your shamans directly behind you, as soon as you reach the boss drop 4x healing stream, 4x fire elemental, and then go to town. The fire elementals will kill the adds, the frost tombs, and help damage the boss.

Alternatively you can drop magmas, you just have to remember to keep refreshing them every 8 or 10 seconds or however long they last :)

I use magma totems and they take care of the tombs.

I run a pala tank + 3 elemental shamans + 1 resto shaman as dedicated healer. My gear is far away from Hachoo's gear... some of my toons still have lvl 65 greens on them, so go figure.

I have chain heal set on a separate button on all the DPS toons, so they can heal through AoE damage or just heal themselves when needed.

The fight goes this way...

1 ) Before going to the boss put earth shield and riptide on the tank, so he can survive the initial damage while the shamans lay the totems down.
2 ) Capitan america shield throw, run to the boss with all shamans following the tank.
3 ) Lay down 4 x magma totem and tank consecrates.
4 ) The DPS toons cast chain heal, this basically fills the tank HP.
5 ) DPS fun starts
6 ) When some toon is frost tombed the magma totems and an ocassional chain lightning do the trick... then just cast chain heal to top all the toons HP and DPS more.

Sure the fight lasts longer... my fights are long ones due to a severe lack of DPS, but as long as my healing power is good everything goes down sooner or later.

Exceedingly helpful info. I clear H-CoS, H-Gundrak and 3 other first bosses in heroics but I have been afraid to try UK :/ This scum bag gave me so much trouble on regular at 70-71 I hated the fight. I'm going to give it a whirl tomorrow. Thanks again.

This is my current dps macro on my followers that I use in UK. Im running a paladin and 4 druids. I manually apply treants Moonfire and Insect Swarm along with HOT's as needed.

/assist sbjones
/target frost tomb
/use 13
/use 14
/castrandom Starfire, Wrath, Wrath

This gets the job done. I do not do any positioning for my druids they are just on the standard /follow and as long as they are standing on each other they will hit frost tombs on themselves as well as my paladin out front. I approch the boss from the left side of the table so the skeletons run right to the paladin and I pop Holy Wrath to stop them and keep agro on the paladin and Concecration does the rest.

UK heroic with the "on the rocks" achivement (not killing a singel frost tomb) is incomming.

I dont realy outgear the instance either.. Well im uploading it atm, so expect it later today! :)

I use an all-in-one similar to yours:

/target Frost Tomb (for UK)
/target Snake Wrap (for GD)
/target Web Wrap (for AN)
/castrandom Fire Blast, Arcane Barrage

It usually only takes 1 cast for my mages to drop whatever trap is up.

Although, now I try for the achievements and find that healing through these is quite easy once geared.

Hachoo --

Thank you very much, fire elementals worked very well. Downed on the first try.

Heenan --

Do you use that macro all the time? If I understand macros correctly that macro would work just fine in an instance that wasn't UK or GD or AN, right? That is, if you used that macro in Halls of Lightning (an instance without Frost Tombs/Snake Wrap or Web Wrap) executing that macro would just go to the "/castrandom Fire Blast, Arcane Barrage" line and not get stalled out looking for a target that didn't exist. Right?

Yes, it works. It falls through to whatever my pally has targeted if it can't find what it's looking for. But I have it on a separate key that I only use when I know I am going to have this happen to the group.

I am busy doing my first heroic, right now. I always hated this Keleseth guy on normal mode. Now, I followed you strategy by the letter, and I killed him easily !

I am so happy right now, I got my first ever badge on my first ever heroic instance. I know it's old story for most of you, but this really makes my day ! It really feels like an achievement. I like this feeling. :)

Thanks a lot to all of you for all the tips and advices. This is a great community !

My strat for this has been to clear the 4 mobs in his room, set my shaman up on the stairs just before his room and then pull him to the doorway of the stairs. I stack right in front of my shaman and drop magma totems which takes care of frost tombs and does more dps on the boss. The summoned adds have to run thru the doorway and thru my consecration and holy wrath+magma totems drops em pretty quick.

I think this is the proper macro for the frost tombs....

/assist focus
/target Frost Tomb
/cast Lightning bolt

I would probably just have my main do it
/target the prince
/target forst tomb
/cast xxx

or on the main again
/target forst tomb
/targetenemy [noexists]
/cast xxx

All you have to do for frost tomb is to add it in any attack macro after your /assist line, for instance...

/assist focus
/target frost tomb
/cast chain lightning

or w/e your macros look like. I recommend putting it on your "spam" button, or in other words the attack button you hit the most.

You also never have to take this line out of your macros either. I put it in my spam button 3 months ago and never took it out. that way I never even have to think about it when i do fight the prince.

This encounter became flat out trivial once I did this. Same as TDog, I only recently noticed it was in my spam DSP button as I wanted to change my mage macro and needed the space.

The "I Have Macro LOL" might be a solution for these fights that require specific macros.

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/ihml.aspx

"IHML is an addon that gives you one macro which automagically changes what it is depending on what zone you're in or which BigWigs boss module is enabled"

Kind of funny, kind of not

I was getting char limited on my dps macro so Instead of /target frost tomb I started using /target fro but when I went to gundrak/moorabi and forgot to comment out the line I wiped due to the mages targeting a frog!!!(this has happened several times). Deciding that I would fix this, I changed the macro from target fro to target frost to fix it. This worked until I was useing a frost totem and wiped due to the mages targeting it!!!!

this simple little line makes the price fight easy for me, but it has probably cost me 300-400g in repair bills :)

I never worry about the frost tombs, didn't even know you could blast them away until I saw someones macro here for them. I've found with 1 pally and 4 shammies that it doesn't really matter if 1 is tombed. The biggest problem I had was with the adds beating on my shammies so I used to drop an earth ele which worked ok and then remembered thunderstorm. So now I have 4 thunderstorms on a castsequence so they're staggered and that takes care of the adds without issue. I got him down in 41 secs on Monday according to bossmods so I'm pretty happy about that.

What I do is clear the guys nearest the entry / rest and then target the prince and run in with the shammies on follow dropping totems as they near him and the pally grabs aggro with AS, then they go to town and DPS him down. I haven't tried any other method as this seems to work well.

When I had less health it was a bit of an issue and had to heal a lot which grabbed aggro from the skellies, but now I'm sitting on around 31k buffed so can concentrate more on dps. I've found the skellies attack the shammies even though Omen is reporting that I have a big lead on aggro so maybe it's just an encounter mechanic, not sure.

The pally has shadow aura up which seems to help a bit.

Fire elementals didn't work for me - they aggro'd the boss and stayed on the boss.

Magma totems don't work either. They never did enough damage to keep off the adds AND the ice.

Breaking your dps rotation to chain heal didn't work for me. I can clear up to him without much problem, but it must be a gear thing to get past him. To do heroics, haha, you need heroic gear.

EDIT: Best I can get him to is 20%. All the vid's I've seen the tanks have 25k health, so I guess the lowest you can go into a heroic is that (which my tank ain't at)

Thank you! I had couldn't get the Frost Tombs down. I play on a mac and experience horrible keystroke lag sending to clients so even slowly spamming it'll hit that key forever soooo I couldn't not switch target with a second /target Frost Tomb key.

Adding the /target Frost Tomb at the start of my dps macro is a fantastic idea. It will switch target even if my guys are bogged down with keystrokes. THANK YOU I can't wait to try it out.

Here's the new /click macro I'll use for UK.

/target Frost Tomb
/click [nochanneling] MultiBarRightButton1
/click [nochanneling] MultiBarRightButton2
/click [nochanneling] MultiBarRightButton3
/click [nochanneling] MultiBarRightButton4
/stopmacro [exists,harm,nodead]
/assist party1

Erm, 25k is not much, doing heroics in low lvl gear is whats breaking you up. Get your tank some decent gear and stats and try again, or just run normals, and not uk but the lvl 80 ones (the ones that give rep) like hol, cos, up.

I was able to get some tank gear from normal ToC. Gonna get my tank as high as I can hp wise, then focus on my shaman. For the time being they are collecting pvp purps. Once they finish their elemental set, I will start on resto for one.

I will certainly post when I finally break through this wall.

This is my tank
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Stonemaul&n=Gond

He's barely over 22k health when I started doing HK he barely had 20k health.
I run HK on a regular basis

If yer using a pali tank put up the shadow resist aura on keleseth those shadowbolts do 5k+ damage on herioc.

My tank has 40k hp self buffed, must admit that makes life a LOT easier, hardly even heal on bosses except if they do some funky stuff :)

Just killed him last night for the first time. WOW! The rest of the instance was a breeze! This was the hardest boss.

As for the tombs - I didn't use a macro, fire elementals, or magma totems. I just targeted them with my pally and had the boys blow it up. Running UP over and over to get my last two tanking pieces helped. Targetting the ghosties in that first fight is the same as the tombs in this fight.

AWESOME idea about the shadow aura!
It was a gear thing though. Now that I broke 535, I haven't needed to spam heal like mad. Man am I amped that I can now run heroics!
