Ok so far I have done

Quests to 10
SFK to 20
SM Cath to 30

Now I am doing RFD, keep in mind I have a mammoth so travelling is very easy for me.

RFD is an odd dungeon because some of the mobs actually have a leash. Leash is what I say when I mean how far a mob will chase you. For example in instances mobs usually do not have a leash. If they cannot path to you they will reset otherwise they will chase you all over. Now outside most mobs have a short leash they will chase you maybe a few 100 yards then go back. So what I do is pull up the left to the first alcove. Going past that causes the mobs to reset. Kill the mobs and move to the next alcove. Kill the mobs and move to the area with the ledge. I clear all that and park my two boosters on the ledge. I then jump down and run up the entire spiral to very top with the boss mob. I kill the boss mob and all the mobs where the boss mob stands. From 30ish to 40ish this was about 75% of a level. I then jump down and run back to my toons pulling all the mobs along the way and stopping to kill them in the gong room. I ring the gong while kiling the pulled mobs for some extra xp. This puts me in at about 90% a run. An average run was taking 15 minutes.

I was thinking about trying to go right from the entrance and pull all those mobs to the top of the spiral, dropping my newbs off well down below, and killing them all at the boss mob. It may go faster that way.

So my question is does anyone else use RFD and how do you do it?

Also how come nobody boosts past 60? While I realize even a well geared tank can't pull all of say the ramparts and you lose triple xp I would assume that boosting toons would still be valid until the mid to late 70s. Does anyone have any insight on post 60 boosting?

We need another Smooth video of how to do RFD....

I've actually never tried boosting in RFD. I may try it soon though as I have a group of mages at 22 just starting out in SM.

I think the reason most don't boost past 60 is like you said, no RAF bonus and mass killing with 1 character gets slower and slower as you level. You just can't kill enough of them faster than they kill you. Boosting depends on total damage per second. When you can gather tons of mobs at a time even protection specs can do massive dps. DPS = XP per sec.

I am going to try 60+ boosting by specing my 4x druids resto and seeing how much they can keep me alive while I try to gather huge groups of Outlands instance elites. I'll let you know how it goes.

That is my plan also. I am boosting a shammie/druid so I will set them up to heal my DK and see if I can still pull tons of mobs for fast xp 60+.

Update:

Instead of going to strat I actually went to scholo at 45.

This is what I do. My DK runs in and clears the bridge and I set my newbs up at the bottom of the entrance stairs with totems etc. I have my DK jump down off the bridge and I basically pull that whole room under the bridge. Then I pull the whole next room back to the bridge room. Then I pull the Whelp room back to the bridge room. Then I run through the room with all the summoners avoiding them because you cant gather them up and AOE them down. I pull the next room which is actually the first room of the dungeon if you don't jump off the bridge. It takes me 13 minutes to clear scholo like that and gives almost a full level at 45. It took me about three hours to do 45 to 55 I would say about 30 minutes of that was figuring out the pulls.

Sidenotes. Don't try to do the basement you get a ton of non elite mobs that are 50 to 55 that are immune to magic damage so the DK has to melee them all down. This means smaller pulls to avoid wipes and then it is just to slow. Don't bother with the risen construct room they are just to spread out and not enough in there to really get a good amount of xp. I tried the room with all the neutral students but when you aggro one you get about forty mobs that are 50 to 55 elites on you. My DK was unable to kill them before they kill him. This room is actually what attracted me to scholo I was hoping this would be an easy pull/easy xp room but the damage is just too much. I was however able to work the bridge room over for fast xp.

Pushing past the student room is kind of pointless it is mainly mini boss/boss mob fights after that and they are small and spread out. I did clear the dungeon for the achievment but now I am just working the rooms near the bridge room.

I am thinking about trying ZG tonight. I really enjoyed mounted pulling in ZF so I was thinking it would be nice to give ZG a run. Also several of the boss mob fights in there have lots of adds and waves of mobs that might be good xp.

If ZG is a bust then I will be off for some leory jenkins leveling.
