I've never been in as much demand from the GM's, boxing sure does bring them to you :)

Anyway, to the point. A little while ago, i had just finished a string of quests, got back to chillwind camp, handed them in and having had a fear beers, it is St Patrick's day ... I decided to empty the bladder and get myself some snacks. I got back about 10 mins later, seeing that I had missed two whispers from a GM. First was 6 mins old, the second was 5 mins old. I couldn't reply to the GM as they showed offline.

He/She had said that they were following up on a report and asked how the multiboxing was going. Of course, I didn't reply. The second whisper was asking if I got the first message .. Again, I was afk. I submitted a ticket as soon as I got back, asking about it.

Can I expect to wake up banned tomorrow? I don't know much about all of this stuff, not doing naughty stuff as a rule :D

If going AFK in camp was bannable, they would have taken my accounts away years ago...

Heh, that's what I was thinking. Just hope that the GM actually appeared at me to check if I was active or not.

I'm paniced now, worried that I miss a reply to my ticket while I'm reading the forum :)

have another beer, it's cool :)

I had a GM petition where the person must've reported me as a botter. Quite a funny convo. I'm sure it was something similar; the GM probably knew that you just got reported for multiboxing and moved on.

Hahaha .. I can't believe this. I know i've been drinking, but look ... I can still spell and am not adding extra letters or anything :)

I got a reply from my ticket, the GM contacted me during my Abyssal Shelf bombing run, so I just flew back, whispering back to them that it was indeed a good time to talk. Well, I got the same problem as before, it said the GM was offline so I couldn't whisper them. What's going on here, am I missing something? Is there some weird way to talk to GM's? Isn't it done through regular whispers, like us mortals?

Anyway, there I was, pulling the last of my hair out, trying to reply to the GM. Then the ticket was closed and I find myself with a request to fill in a CS survey.

It's put my mind at ease, if it was something important, I'm guessing they would have had me hanging by my nuts by now :)

you should be able to just reply to them normaly , by typing 'r'

Didn't they add some new "Talk to GM" interface frame? I use XPerl and it showed up okay, but I remember I had to type in the special frame, I don't think the normal whisper worked. Might want to see if there are any known issues with your frames and the new feature.

Hmm, I use xperl unitframe and have just installed WIM to try out too, wonder of one of them is the issue, thanks. I'll look into it.

Ugh, I think they did. Well, no one (sane) promised progress would be easy.

Ah ha! Well spotted, Souca. I've just done a quick read and it seems that WIM has issues with the GM system and you are unable to talk to them, time to get rid of that! :)

It's a shame though, I do like a lot of the WIM features, I'll just have to keep an eye out for a fix.

While AFK I dont see how tyou could have an issue. Now if you were killing mobs and not answering, thats another issue =P

Going AFK and having a GM whisper you is no big deal. They will ignore it, and maybe contact you via e-mail.
However, NEVER go afk while having the Automatic Goblin Therapist set to auto-add.
I am lucky that I came back, I was so almost to get banned for botting. I now no longer have it on auto-surgery.

I'm a bit worried about this as I have my toons set up so I can lead with either one, which means that I don't have a set 'leader' but I also might be spending a while focusing on only one toon (e.g. for a collection quest). I'm concerned that a GM will whisper the alt toon, I won't notice, and they'll think I'm botting because the alt doens't reply but is still fighting stuff.

What I'd like is an addon that just forwards whispers, but one that can switch easily between leaders with either a keybind or macro, I guess I'll have a look around, unless anyone knows of something like that already?

The Jamba addon will relay wispers to the "leader". Which is nice.

Its in the stickies in the mod forum.

ohh and regarding the first post.

Try wispering the GM next time with: "stfu n00b, leave me alone!"

:D

Jamba does whisper forwarding as well as a host of other nice features. I think the Multibox add on ( i think thats what its called ) also does forwarding of whispers.

dude, I'm in awe

I've NEVER been contacted by a GM unless I put a ticket in first... and I almost never do that.
Do you have some really whiny be-oches on your server or what?

JAMBA does forward the GM whispers but, with the new GM Chat interface, you need to swap to that client and use the special chat window, you can't whisper back to the GM directly.

Even with the new GM window I still just hit "r" to talk to them. It actually confused me because I tried to click/use the GM window. I use ChatMOD, maybe that made it different for me.

You can whisper back directly to the gm. I've done it with WIM even. The GM chat pane is just there to show just the gm's conversation, nothing serious all it is still are whispers.

Dude, I couldn't help but perusing your toons. Some of your RAF guys crack me up. Level 60 shaman with a level 16 mace. I remember when my toons were all like that.

If you think that's funny, you should see my 60s walking around in the gear they were born in. RAF is special.

Whining doesn't cover it, I wouldn't normally have been bothered about a report, if I hadn't been accidently banned once.

For the most part though, I would have to say that the people on Lightbringer EU are grandmaster whiners. Horde side is more so. I have actually started remaking my toons on the alliance side, because i got tired of the constant insults and reports on the horde side. I've found alliance to be much more friendly toward boxers and I even ran into another boxer too :)

My horde toons will slowly be deleted or transfered out and alliance will be my new side, it sounds sad saying that. I've been horde since I started playing in the US beta :(

It could be that Lightbringer EU is the evil decadent Danny DeVito to Lightbringer US's tall and majestic Arnold Schwarzeneggar. Maybe your server can learn the value of sharing and friendship from mine! And then we'll foil the bank robbers ... or ... uh, whatever the plot of the movie I'm referencing was ... what the hell *was it?

That made me laugh.

On silvermoon EU, people are generally friendly.... I have only expirenced a couple of negative rants during my questing. Mostly people stop and say "Wtf?"

Most of the time I never reply to wispers, because I have to stop up to type, and i have once wiped in an instance because I diden't unpause keyclone... Made a nice pull with the tank on a boss and thought wtf? wheres the healing!!!! lol Epic!

I say we have the next Hogger event on Lightbringer EU and just flood the damn place with multiboxers.
