Is it possible to dual box on the same machine without using any kind of program (other than WoW of course). Ive read a few of the guides and didnt see anything. I just got RAF for myself and have simply been using follow and pretty much solo everything.

Is there a way I can make that follower useful?

I guess if nothing I'll have to get Keyclone XD

Just get keyclone. Personally, I don't think that I have ever spent a better $20.

Pick two that you enjoy playing, or two of the same kind and have fun with it.

There's no best combo, there's simply what you enjoy playing as and enjoy the time

for ease of play probaby one of the following combos:

Druid / Druid (tank and boom or 2x boom)

Warlock / Warlock (demo spec for Felguards)

Hunter / Hunter (BM or MM - doesnt really matter - awsome damage either way)

Paladin / Priest (tank and heal/dps)

Shaman / Shaman (elemental fun)

but i suppose it all depends on what you like to play..

Don't do it without software. I brought a shammy and a paladin to level 67 together thinking I was so clever and had beat the system. You just alt-tab like a mofo. One toon invarabley is just a support/healer type.

www.dual-boxing.com broke my brain and I couldn't believe that I had been so retarded. Since then I've used both KeyClone and HotKeynet and have most definitely embraced the latter.

For single computer mutlboxing in the sense that we do it - there is (currently) no way to do it without software.

Apart for the fact of alt-tabbing... But that really isn't multiboxing.

But then again, software-boxing on one pc isn't -really- multiboxing either.

More like emu-boxing. :P

Under Windows XP you can easily accomplish multiboxing of two accounts without any additional software.

Set wow to 800x600 and play on a widescreen monitor (1680x1050 gives plenty of room).
Set Windows for "Focus Follows Mouse - XMouse" using a registry hack (or use Windows PowerToys)
Setup your two classes.

I played rogue/priest like this for quite some time, you mouse over the priests window and click to heal, mouse back to the rogue and spam hotkeys for dps, back and forth and back and forth.

Is it OPTIMAL? Not in any way... and I can say that I've tried doing this with three characters and while possible, far from easy.

just decided the best way to figure it out is to get KeyClone. Playing around with it now. Should have bought it yesterday while I trying to figure it out lol.

Pretty simple once you know how all of it works.

what is the macro that targets the focus's target to start attacks?

Lots of options here...

/cast [target=focustarget]Spell

or

/assist focus

Many more I'm sure.

Wasn't there also a widely-used Mac way of doing this that isn't so "hacky"? I'm not as familiar with macs, but I know there aren't many mac programs and mac users were using built-in mac functionality to multibox... Maybe that's WHY we don't see many mac programs, who knows.

If the concern about software is legality, make sure to check out our GM Conversations wiki page ('http://dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.php/GM_Conversations') for some quotes and links.

More like emu-boxing. :PThis is the police: move away from the emu, put the boxing gloves down, and raise your hands above your head.

If you have not paid for Keyclone yet, I would TOTALLY go with ISBoxer. I tried keyclone originally and really had issues setting it up. ISBoxer has a wizard which has you up and running in about 60 seconds. It cost 9.99 for 3 month sub BUT if you are only using it to RAF then that woudl fit perfectly too.
ISBoxer is a lot of people's favorite here.

Roflmao! He posted that an eternity ago, im sure he either got KC by now or passed away from old age!

btw i 3-4 boxed EQ and DAoC, alt tabbing, on a single PC for years, and did it well! I did use software on EQ to be able to open more than one window but had no key broadcasting.
