First of all thanks for this site and keyclone. This has totally changed my WoW experience. No more waiting on groups and dealing with incompetent boobs. Now I am the only incompetent boob in the group.
I had various accounts over the years so I gathered them all up on one server and ended up with.
2 Mages
1 Priest
1 Hunter
I needed a tank so I made a DK and split him off to another account.
I have all my guys at 80 but I notice the Hunter just does not bring anything to the table. He is another ranged DPS but he has no buffs, no rez, no heals etc etc
So I am thinking of replacing him. So here are my questions.
Given my group make up what would you recommend? I am leaning towards a Druid for Buffs, Ranged DPS, Back up heals etc
Some people here have written some great ways to boost toons up real fast so here are my questions.
Do you just boost with one level 80 or does it matter if you have 4 80s and the lowbie in the group?
Do you mainly just go to smaller dungeons and pull the mobs to the door and AOE them down?
Most of the guides stop at level 60. Most people are saying they get to 60 in about 10 hours played but, what happens 60 to 80?
I just recently did 60 to 80 with one of my mages, the DK, and the hunter questing and I have to admit it kind of sucked I really don’t want to level another toon 60 to 80 again but the hunter just is not cutting it.
Do you guys still instance 60 to 80 and if so what is your instance progression?

hunters can top the DPS charts, but that being said maybe you should look into a ballance druid (or moonkin).
they give a 3% crit buf and the earth and moon debuf on the target increases damage taken by all sources ( by 13% for something like that ).
as for boosting a lowbie without RAF... it really bytes these days, they kind of nerfed it.
you can play the toon to level 10 and start running him through instances with just one of your level 70s or 80s.
level 10 dead mines
level 15 stormwind stockaid ( or equivalent )
level 20 SM
there are other dungeons for later on but if you have more than one level 70 or one level 80 you really nerf the XP you will be getting.
you might as well make a team of all duids and run them all up together with one of the level 80s
good luck

Yeah my oppurtunity to RAF is long gone most of my accounts are 2+ years old.
I am considering the Druid for the buffs and backup heals. Plus on boss mob fights I can have him tossing HoTs on damaged support toons as well as trying to cure poison.
Do you guys recommend instancing 60 to 80 or questing?
I figure I can boost the druid with my DK up to the point where the mobs are green to my 80s then just incoporate him into the full group. Obviously with higher level dungeons I can no longer pull the whole dungeon but I can still do pretty big AoE groups.
I really really really don't want to do 60-80 again questing if I can avoid it.
60-80 i would say the fastest way to level if you already have 4 other 80's is just grp em all together with your lowbie and roflstomp through every quest possible. you will level at an insane rate. thats what i did anyway.

Elemental Shaman without question. As far as buffs go, you get a spell crit buff from both Totem of Wrath and Elemental Oath and you get spell haste from Wrath of Air. With a DK you spec UH and use Ebon Plaguebringer for 13% increase in spell damage which doesn't stack with similar buffs from a Boomkin. Also with the shaman you have Mana Spring, Healing Stream, Stoneskin, and Poison Cleansing Totems which all help in your instance running.

The plus side to the Shaman as well is that come 3.1 some of the aforementioned totems will be combined like I believe what I saw earlier was that the mana/healing totems and disease/poison would be incorporated into one so 1 mana/health and 1 poison/disease totem... I know there all in the same water tree but still its a plus to have them. It might of changed but I think Shaman would be a good addition to your team, boomkin I dont know I like the buffs he brings but I still find my Shaman x3 team to kick the shaman, mage, druid teams butt.

TBH I am thinking of just leveling up 4 Shamans and always having out like heal, mana, resist, cleansing, armor etc etc
Do most of you guys with four shamans use multiple heal totems or do you just find one is suffcient?

I certainly wouldn't say hunters bring nothing to the table. They bring CC via pets and traps...I can't express how much I loved Freezing Arrow, offtanking with a pet, debuffs with pets, he's the only one in your current group with nature resist, aspect of the pack, misdirect for pulling and agro-padding. And this doesn't include spec-specific utilites like replenishment, silencing shot, wyvern sting, MS on Aimed shot, 3% damage increase for the entire party when your pet crits.
But, if you want to replace the hunter, I'd go druid or warlock probably. The debuff from boomkin or the lock will work nicely with your mages.

I agree with what you say. My guy was beastmaster specced and with him just running as a slave his DPS was pretty low. I used the elitist jerks BM spec and BM rotation. I never really needed CC I just pulled stuff and with my DK he can easily hold aggro on multiple mobs. I will miss aspect.
By replacing him with a druid tho I get a higher ranged DPS and he druid brings anothe rez, gift of the wild, back up heals, another way to clense things. I think the druid is a better choice. With the specs of my DK, Mages, and preist + flasks, I have my own alchemist, my resists are all over 250 and in some cases are capped so the nature buff did not bring alot to the table.
The huner was really just conveinant. My brother was not playing him anymore and he was already 72 or something. I am currently RAFing a druid and shaman to replace the hunter and one of my mages and leveling is going pretty fast. I am looking forward to the new ranged DPS as well as additional buffs they bring to the table.
