im looking at an Area-51 m9750 laptop. 17 inch screen
-With-
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7200 2.0GHz 4MB Cache 667MHz FSB
Dual 512MB Nvidia® GeForce™ 8700M GT - SLI Enabled
2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz – 2 x 1024MB
Windows XP - Pro. Maybe vista... but doubt it.
do you think i could duel-box ok on it? or triple-box?
also can i make it so the main screen is maximised while the other 2 are very small, so i can just alt+tab to em? would that work ok, or would that eventually fry the comp, cause there arn't to many fans inside.

I'm sure you can dual-box on it. I have used my laptop to dual-box before and it is just over a year old, ie less power then yours. Now I do have to turn down the graphics a bit and turn off sound, but I get 15FPS+ in Shatt.
My personal test for how many WoWs a computer can handle is what FPS they get in Shatt, which is the laggiest most graphically demanding zone I know.

My system specs are a shade lower than yours 256mb gfx and 1.7ghz dualcores and I can easily 4box on my laptop... Wishing my monitor was bigger though :/

ok cool ty, also um... is it posible to have your main toon fully maximized on the screen, and have the other 4 running in the back round? or the other 3. then when you need to play the other one you just alt tab to it?
Like so->

sorry for the bad pic, but thats the 17 inch screen split up into 4 wow's with your 5th Maximised over thouse 4. would that work?
Also ive been seeing ppl with set ups with 2-5 keyboards... is that needed to 5 box? is 2-5 boxing easy on a laptop with only 1 keyboard?

Keyclone is all you need to software multibox. And running the 4 'alt' screens in the background is possible, albeit not effective. I like watching my alt screens... keeping tabs on your alts is always good. Wanderers and collection quests require a certain amount of attention.

In reality you could just run your main on the left with the 4 alts all squeezed in on the right, it wouldn't be the most "pretty" but you would still be able to see your alts for what you would need.
Basically something like this:
.....W..... Wow 2
.....O..... Wow 3
.....W..... Wow 4
.....1...... Wow 5
The alt screens would be tiny but as long as you have all of your tells forwarded to your main toon and are using keyclone, you don't need a very big alt screen. The only pain might be looting for collection quests.
(ASCII art is NOT my forte)

Yah... i agree with the problems with collection quests. if any thing once i get the laptop, ill probably just 3 - box, i don't want to burn out the comp right after i get it, and the screens wont be that small that way. Any this is my first time boxing, so im still gona have to get used to controlling all 3 XD
.....W..... WoW 2
.....O.....
.........................
.....W.....
.....1...... WoW 3
