Been ages since I've run launcher, thanks to the stupid anti virus crap it was causing, so I'm not surprised it didn't do anything when I fanally found it. WoW.exe only seems to download things when the patch goes live (and thanks to my ISP throttling torrents, it takes forever to get patches), so thanks for the heads up.

Just started up BackgroundDownloader.exe, and it's downloading WoW-3.0.9.9551-to-3.1.0-enGB-patch. It's pretty big at 594 MB.

All this means is that they're done with textures and models, so they're pushing it out there. I'll have to remind myself to use the Loader to get it to download overnight. I expect that the data miners will have most of it sniffed out by Monday. :)

Judging from the testing schedule and state of the PTR, we have a while before the patch goes live. The work they have left, balance and ability changes can be a small patch on patch day ontop of the 500mb one.

That they said they'd delay a holiday says to me they have a LOT of work left to do. That kind of CYA is unusual for them.

I started the downloader last nite and that ~550mb was completed in less than an hour. Must have been all the prime time (midnight saturday) activity feeding the torrent.
