i am often frustrated in getting a group (PUG or Guild) to run heroics with me, i have 3 main characters and would like to gear all of them through 5-man heroics (loot and emblems). therefore i would like to try multi-boxing so my first question would be how many accounts/characters minimum do you think a heroic dungeon can be completed.

i have a friend that would join me most of the time with either a healer or tank, i am thinking of making a tank and 2 dps while friend takes the healing job. i'm not even sure if i can justfity paying for 3 accounts, i have 2 right now. i have to pay 4 accounts to assemble an entire 5-man heroic group (4+1).

another question would be, do you think multi-boxing is the solution to this (getting a group to consistently run heroics). what other areas do you think multi-boxing is fun (i'm not sure about pvp)? as of now, i only find multi-boxing useful on elite quests and instances, alts and crafting can be done with one account.

with multi-boxing imo, you just have the advantages of soloing (player) more content than others. thanks!

I think I speak for most Multi-Boxers in which boxing is a way to change what they do day-to-day. Most of the boxers I see have mains they raid with, and teams to play around on. If you are going to Multi it is going to cost you a bunch of money over the long period of time.

Are you going to pvp or pve? but sadly ur going to have to get at least 3-4 accounts to be really successful

for pvp- ur going to need all the same class.. successfully u can reach 2.5k in arenas.. the best comp for this is 4-5 shamans
for pve- u can get differnet kinds of classes.. but its a little more complicated. You can successfully run with 4 shamans and 1 tank friend. chain healx4=ftw. this will solve ur problem if u have a tank that will run with u whereever u go.

Like any other group for end game 5-man instances, you will need, well 5 toons ;-). If you have a friend coming in with 1 then you would have to play the other 4. The only way you could use less toons would be with really good gear and really good skills at multiboxing, and my best guess is that you don't have either ;-)

The first attempt at a dungeon always ends in a horrific manner, but once you get the hang of it, its not too bad, and great fun to boot! :D
