Got my Shamans and Locks to lvl 80 and now am working on my Druids. Currently lvl 70.

I am really in love with one shotting mobs that are 3 levels higher with starfire. These boomkins have some serious burst damage. However, I still like prowling around in cat form and like to attack players with melee as well. I was actually thinking of changing talents to Feral for a while but for now I am still leveling and boomkins are the way to go in that aspect.

I have been collecting quest gear for both specs. If i see a piece of gear that my boomkins can't upgrade with and there is a feral piece I will grab it. I found a staff that gives 720 attack power in cat/bear/boomkin form and started thinking I might be able to have feral fun but stay spec'd boomkin. In my talents I did drop down into feral tree to get Feral Instinct and Feral Swiftness. Grabbed 3 points in Thick Hide as well. I added some code to my Cat Form/Bear Form macros to equip the staff and it works. Hit boomkin button and my spell damage weapon gets equipped. I see this as a bit of a PITA if I plan to do this for full gear, weapons and trinkets and am wondering of anyone else is doing this ATM. Or if anyone has any tips for me. This will come in very handy when (if) they actually implement dual specs.

I plan on making some changes this weekend so don't be shy! Any thoughts or advice is appreciated!

there are addons to swap gear whole gear sets.

I have one of them wardrobe or something like that (or is it locker).

I used to swap in and out of gear on my druid depending on the form he is in.

Does gear swapping work in combat, not sure.

Gear swapping (aside from weapons) doesn't fly in combat. So swapping out that feral staff for a caster staff is fine, or a MH and OH (as long as it's not a shield) will also work. Armor is a definite no-no, not completely sure about trinkets; I'm pretty sure you can swap out trinkets in combat, most of them anyways, not sure about the ones that add armor.

I use Outfitter for solo toons. If you want a macro for a full set, it's still doable, no different than the old weapon swap macro I use on my 19 rogue, but you might be limited by the 255 character limit on standard macros.

why not just have one dedicated feral? this will rock when you decide to solo instances.

Wardrobe looks like it will do what I need. I can create buttons to switch them. That will just mean having to prepare ahead of time which isn't a big deal I guess.

And I may just spec one feral as suggested to see how that works out. I could still one shot pretty much everything with just four of the moonkins.

meh... no fun!!

go bear form, run around, grab 10-15 mobs, swipe+roar, Hurricane.

Went ahead and spec'd feral just to see how it was and it may be hard for me to switch back! It may just be the switch from caster to melee and breaking up the regular grind a bit but I'm loving it for now. Wardrobe addon is working great for swapping caster/melee gear. Haven't tried an instance yet since going feral. May respec one hybrid feral/healer.

I was a die hard caster till I tried swapping to feral on my druid.

As a result of that I revisted enhancement on my shaman and love it.

After realizing it was harder to kill elite mobs (for quests) i went back to balance. I think when dual spec comes i'll just have one spec feral for pvp fun time and balance for most of the other stuff.

You can avoid the 255 char limit by having one equip macro call another using the /click command. Just an idea for those who may not want to run another addon.
