Ok, so my taxes will be coming back soon, and I have a decision to make.

I have already tested multi-boxing by opening up 4 trial accounts and playing 4 mages. My single computer handled it very well.

quad core 3.0ghz
4gb ram
2 Radeon HD 4850 512 MB running on crossfirex

I had no problems with lag or anything of the sort, but I only got them to about level 15 before I decided I should either do it for real or go back to playing normal.

The question is....should I spend my tax returns on a shiny new bowling ball, pay some bills, or finally take the plunge and start multi-boxing?

buy yourself additional 4 GB of RAM and a 64 Bit OS and for the rest: pay some bills.

Haha, good one. Perhaps you can answer this question.

I never did PvP with my 4 toon setup. Do you, or any other experienced multi-boxers think that my one computer will be able to handle a 4-5 box setup in PvP (assuming I have one copy running at decent settings and the other 3-4 on the lowest possible?)

Pay your bills. It will help you more in the long run of the game called life.

Agreed.

If you have to ask if you should pay your bills, you should pay your bills.

PRO TIP: try to reduce your monthly recurring bills as much as possible; it is what bleeds you financially.

Judging by your avatar (if thats you) you might also consider a set of dumbbells and a shirt.

I remember those days of actually getting money back....heres to paying $10,000.

If you have the money, definately do it. IMHO it is well worth the investment!

Hehe just messing with you.

I cant comment on the machine in pvp because I dont really box to pvp, though a lot of users here do so hopefully somebody will chime in. My guess is that pvp = more stuff happening = harder to run but I could be way off?

As to whether your machine will handle it..........

No idea. =)

No idea. =)Oh, so you multi-box to PvE? That's intresting. I didn't know that people really did that. I mean, I know that people who box to PvP do some PvE too, but I didn't know people focused on PvE.

How many toons do you run at once? Also, do you use one machine or just one?

5 on 1 laptop.

I have a toddler so I dont get a lot of time online so I like to be able to do an instance whenever i feel like it, etc. Youll find similar reasoning for other boxers here too, im sure im not the only one.

A lot of us do PvE. I personally can't stand PvP and haven't done any since s3 started.

But what kind of PvP are you looking to do? Larger-scale PvP might be a real pain since there's just so much more to render, but I imagine you shouldn't have many problems with smaller scale things like arena and AB.
