Hello everyone, I stumbled onto this site today and I erratic about some people being able to multibox on one machine. Here are my current specs;

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane 2.5GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor (Looking to go quad 3.0 AMD soon)
VGA: XFX HD-485X-YDDC Radeon HD 4850 XXX 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150348')
RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122')
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
PS: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Modular ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152035')
MOBO: ASUS M3A78 Pro AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131325')

I am currently running Windows Vista on a 19" Monitor.

What should I do to be able to run 2 instances at once on 2 different monitors with 40-50 fps?

I five box on a single computer with specs equal to or a bit less than what you've described. Granted, I turn a ton of the quality settings down in the video controls for WoW, but still maintain 30 to 40ish FPS on main with 15 on four slaves while in the background.

Really? Should I think about maybe putting 4 more gigs of ram in? Or even possibly adding a hd? Or will it work fine?

i think its ecstatic. and my question to you would be... why do you need both windows running at 40fps?
i would at least have the "main" window going at at least 40fps and the slave's window going at about 15-20fps with lower graphical settings.
4 gigs with two instances of wow should be fine.

Well, I was implying I would want the main instance to be running around 40 fps.

Thanks for all the input!

for each instance of wow you have up, type this in.

/console maxfps 40
then...
/console maxbkfps 20

this will make it so that the active window will always be at 40 fps. the non-active windows will go to 20. if you switch active windows, the fps will change accordingly.

Sweet, I am thinking about buyin another account and start leveling immediately.

Whats the best combo?

Shaman+shaman?

the best combo is usually the classes you like playing the most.
from what i can gather, i think you're best off with casting characters, both of the same class.

so 2 mages, 2 warlocks, 2 eleshamans, 2 boomkins, 2 priests, or 2 hunters.

Go with druids!

They are versatile.... even though theres alot of spells/abilities you have to learn....

But no matter what, I think casters are much easier to multibox than melee clases.
