But sometimes, you just have to be rude. :)

Just a little angst here. I'm leveling a new team through Duskwood, and I had a night elf tagging after who did not understand "No" when it comes to killing Mor'Ladim. A, I'm on the other side of the zone, and I'm about to head to Gnomer for some quests, B. I don't group with other people when I MB, and C. you're annoying me, go bug someone else.

So, something snapped in me. Eff it. I don't owe this idiot an explaination. I just threw up the DND tag and went on my way. I'm done with that kind of thing. In the past, I would have been apologetic and all, now, I just don't care anymore. Think what you want, night elf. Yes, I'm rude. Go away. LOL

(It's not that bad, it's just that one guy who annoyed me. You know the type - if they see another player they try to cling remora-like to them, to get carried through. They're the ones who show up in the middle of a fight, help kill your mob, and then stand there waiting for an invite, without a word. The bad me enjoys walking away with out a word. Heh...)

Anyway

It's bad enough that the newbie zones are clogged with DKs. It's bad enough trying to level because a DK has killed everything. It's bad enough bored and terribad DKs kill named mobs just for the lulz, because they know you need it. It's bad enough that DKs are slumming it in the newbie zones and spamming duels at everyone.

And speaking of DKs, GET OUT OF GOLDSHIRE! Yes, we know, you have better gear and an epic mount. We're not impressed. No, I do not want to duel your level 55 badness with a level 12 priest. I just want to quest and level.

I've always been one to say any player should be able to go wherever they want, and we all know, with professions, some times you have to go back to newbie zones. But in this one case, I would urge and celebrate blocking DKs from entering any content sub level 40. Just give them the first tier of profession training automatically, and keep them OUT!

Ah, DK hate is good. :D I even have some, they're a blast, but jeez, they're everywhere!

It's gotten to the point, if I see glowy hooves, I turn and go the opposite direction. It just not going to end well.

GAH!!!!!

Okay, that off my chest, everything else is dandy! My priest, pally and mage are nearing 30, the new team rocks, and I'm having fun going through the old stuff. I swap my 80's in to get through dungeons, and they're all getting the level appropriate gear from them, they're all geared out from Gnomer and I'm gonna head to Kalimdor as soon as they have mounts, which I *hope* to have tonight. I might also swap the mage out for an existing 30 shaman, I have a level 80 mage already, and I want to work with my shaman more. They're all getting the exploration achievements, and the dungeon achievments. Lots of fun!

Question time - what specs should the pally and priest go for, leveling 30-60?

How is donning the Do-Not-Disturb tag rude?

As for the DK's...Yes, they can be quite annoying. Mainly because they're everywhere, not that I've had much trouble with them in the starting zone.
Towards dueling...what's the point, really? I had this level 80 tell me to "duel him" because I wouldn't join his guild on my four extra characters.

Really, what's the frigging point?

I think the DND is pretty rude... especially when someone puts it up and never responds.. like i cant remember the last time ive not responded to someones mail, pst, whatever.. and sometimes u can even see them running and they dont answer u.. i just dont get it sometimes..

I think disturbing people who have asked not to be disturbed is pretty rude. *shrug* I don't log into a game to be at the entire server's beck and call, I log in because I have things I need to/want to do. Just because someone wants something, doesn't mean I'm in any way obligated to stop what I'm doing to give it to them.

you'll hate western plaguelands when you ding lvl 50.

cuz they're everywhere.... E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E in the plaguelands.

I've done the western plagueland quests at sunday, 5:00 am.
Coffee, logon, hurry hurry hurry, lets get outta here before the DKs wake up and play before mum+dad call them for breakfast *G*

and you'll hate Burning Crusade...
cuz they're everywhere.... E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E in the start area of BC.

DKs start with lvl 58 and some decent gear so they can jump through the portal and quest in BC

I'm lvl 66 now, 90% of the DKs on this level have already been deleted so finally I see some other classes again.

Bah! I tried being nice once and then I figured out there wasn't any future in it.

I don't mind throwing up a DND flag when someone is being an ass and the phrase "Get the hell away from me you stupid jackass" isn't working on em. I'll use it on a stranger who I've just met or a person I've known for a few weeks. Like others have said, I'm here for my enjoyment, and when my ignoring your request isn't enough then hopefully this DND sign will help get the point across.

DND = You're on my good side, and I'm still speaking to you. Just not right now.

....or it could mean...

DND = You haven't made my /ignore list yet.
