Stuck at Novos...his blizzard pretty much kills my shamans if they dont heal at once when it lands, but then they are forced to use all their mana healing - dodging it generally kills 1-2 per blizzard as they get stuck and die (due to no healing)...
All the videos I found on here just shows brute force nuking him down -- I can't do that :/

Can't really upload a video, but what I do nowadays is just put down healing stream with each shaman I have(typically it's just the resto one as I now run a different team), make sure to either have frost resistance aura from a pally or frost resistance totem down and then have my resto shaman spam chain heal into the group.
Perhaps you missed healing stream / frost resistance, that can make quite a difference.

As the above poster said, make sure you have your healing streams and your frost resistance totems up.
Secondly, make sure that you have a strafe macro for your guys that is separate from your tank (if you have one). Make sure that you have cast bars of target on. Blizzard has a cast time. As soon as you see him casting it, strafe your guys to the left. For the next cast, strafe them back right back to where they were. Rinse and repeat until he's dead.
As for being stuck, Novos is a skippable encounter. Just follow the wall to the left as you enter, and you can just skip him and go into the bat room and on to King Dredd and finally the prophet. Until my guys were a little bit better geared I just skipped him. But now that I have a bit better gear and the strafes down, he's a piece of cake.

I never dodged the blizzard myself, even when my gear was such that this fight was a definite challenge. When you don't overgear the fight, it's important to minimize the frost damage as well as the time healing (i.e. chain heal = bad).
Drop mana stream totems for the event prior to Novos' shield going down and chain heal the damage. You should switch to healing stream totems after the 4th keeper guy dies. Thunderstorm. You should be able to end up with near full HP & mana when the shield drops.
Then, to minimize frost damage and time spent healing:
1. Frost resistance totem
2. Spread your guys out, the range of blizzard is quite small and should only hit one at a time even if no-one moves at all.
3. Heal only the toon taking blizzard damage; 4x LHW works very well if you are running 4 ele shammies for instance.
He is definitely the toughest guy in the instance.

Yeah once you get him down you'll probably never have issues again - its just about instinctually knowing what to do. If you watch my DTK bosses video (stickied thread at top) you'll see that I use mana spring totems first while I'm killing his adds, that way my mana is at 100% when I start the fight. Right after I kill the last wizard guy I drop 4x healing stream totems and a frost resistance totem, and then run at the boss with my 4 shamans directly behind me. I no longer "plan" my heals, but the basic method I used before I was way overgeared was to pop bloodlust/trinkets/etc, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR TANK HAVING AGGRO - THIS DOESN'T MATTER, then I would just spam attack him while throwing in 4x chain heal occasionally. You can wait for each blizzard to start if you want and start spamming chain heal (maybe even twice in a row) as soon as he starts casting - sometimes he will go 10s or so with no blizzard which gives you a lot of time to DPS.
One thing that can help a lot on this fight is healing stream totem glyph x4 - depending on your SP it can add 40-60 hp per second to your healing stream totems which does help some.

Make sure you have a hotkey for your water shield buff. Rebuff it after every blizzard and you will have almost unlimited mana. Also like the others mentioned, use healing totems and also the glyphs for healing totems and water shield(+30% more regen). I chain heal as soon as I see the blizzard animation and heal everyone to full. Always make sure your guys are full mana for the next blizzard or you might not live. Another thing is keep your laying down the AE on your paladin or whatever tank as he needs to keep the adds off the shaman.

I setup for this fight right where you first enter the room. You'll know which area I'm talking about because it's the biggest open area in this room, which is exactly why I setup there.
I put the toons back against the wall for the "shield" part of the fight, reason being so that when the casters come out of the door you first enter this room from, you can LOS them on the wall bulkheads. Once we start on Novos himself, I move them out into the middle of that area. The reason I say all of this is that I think it's crucial to my handling of the fight.
Once they are positioned there and my tank is on him, I rotate the camera almost 180 degrees around, such that I can see Novos, my tank, and the shaman in the background. It helps me keep track of the blizzard. When blizzard casts, I just strafe the shaman left/right out of it immediately (you have keybinds to strafe the slaves, right? If not, get some). I find it much easier to try and keep of all this when they have plenty of room to move around, and aren't fighting around pillars and stuff like you have at the bottom of the stairs.
I'll try to get some SSs or something if I can remember next time I go through.
BTW, if adds do get to your shaman, remember thunderstorms. ;)
P.S. It is definitely possible to heal through the blizzard, you just gotta spam a couple CHs. I still recommend just moving, makes your job a little easier imo.

What i did before i could easily heal through it, i just walked the shamans farward healed up and continued nuking, then moved back then the next one came, think i wiped on him the first 2 times then i remembered that i prolly should set up a frost resist totem, and that helped alot.

Before I had the gear to outgear him and just nuke, it was mostly spread (it's a low radius aoe) and self heal (all shaman were elemental, if I had a resto I'd do dedicated healing instead). I've always used mana totems instead, as long as I have mana I can heal myself. Refresh shield very important too.
I also taunt the boss as much as possible so most damage goes to tank.
He was never a real problem this way.
