I got my GTX 295 a few weeks ago and when I loaded up wow x 5 on my system it froze up and rebooted. No problem, seemed to be a classic case of not enough power to the card, I was running the minimum recommended power supply so I figured I would upgrade. I spent $210 on a nice 1000w SilverStone Evolution that has very nice reviews and got it all hooked up today. System started back up like a champ but as soon as I started up 5 copies of wow I had the same issue, a freeze to hard reboot.

I had heard people complain about multi-gpu mode not working so well so I turned that off (now im only using half my card I assume) and my setup runs wow x5 just fine. Does anyone know how or if I can turn it back on and successfully 5 box wow on one pc using all my cards power?

My Setup:

Asus Striker Extreme 680i Mobo
Intel Q6700
8GB System Ram
5x RaptorX 150 Drives
1x WD 500 Drive
EVGA GTX 295
SilverStone OP 1000w Evolution power supply
2 x NEC 2070VX Monitors both running at 1600x1200
Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit

Latest drivers and updates on all products :cursing:

I have a 9800GX2 card and I had the same (crashing) problem until I let the windows taskbar stay visible and on top. If I hide the taskbar and launch my WoWs then windows will have a heartattack and die but as long as it's visible I'm ok (I run my WoWs on the same screen with slaves on the bottom though so it might not apply to you.)

I'm using this card and am loving it. I am not running it in SLI mode because you can only run one monitor that way. But using one processor for one monitor and another for the second one.

You might try uninstalling your old video drivers.

Actually you can use SLI and two monitors on that card, see this ('http://www.slizone.com/object/sli_multi_monitor.html#connection')

Someone on the EVGA forums had a fix for me. Just disable aero and it works fine. The funny thing is I had always had aero disabled until about 1 week before i got the card because someone said thier system was performing better with it on.

now im 5 boxing on two monitors in multi gpu mode with my gtx 295 just fine
