Good afternoon.
Maybe im crazy but I was looking around for info on boxing LOTRO or EQ2 and it occured to me that... it might be a bit more structured (you could have stickies etc per game) if games, once theyve reached a certain level of popularity here, were granted their own sub section.
Just an idea.
Wow is obviously the most popular game going on here but there are people lurking playing all kinds of things.

Is it really needed though? Most games other than wow get posted about where it is easy to find (here or in the MMORPG discussion forums). And honestly, theres hardly any threads for any other games - having a separate forum for anything but WoW would get maybe 1 thread a week.

Meh, I'm kind of torn. On one hand, it really does feel like trying to crash a WoW party every time I post something non-wow-related. And trying to find information on anything other than WoW had me digging through threads with 2 posts from gods know how long ago. It made me less inclined to start posting EQ2 stuff, even with people like Noxxy to have conversations with.
On the other hand, I can't decide if the latest influx of EQ2 related posts is a short-lived flare-up or a trend that would continue. If it's short-lived, there's not much need for a seperate board for each different game. It's like a private board for like 5 of us. And it would be the same for LotR, DDO, Vanguard, whatever else people play. Dead forums.
Personally, my biggest push to multi-box in EQ2 instead of quitting boxing and gaming altogether was the fact that there were somewhat recent posts in MMO Gen about EQ2. If there'd been a lively discussion about LotRO or something else, maybe I would have ended up there.
I'd probably just suggest creating a sticky thread like Sonic777 ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=19309') was looking for a while back. Maybe one for pay games, one for free games. Maybe I'll go ahead and do some research and format one later for pay games.

Yeah im with you Khat. On the one hand it seems kind of dumb to me (and i didnt want to bring it up). On the other hands its a pain trying to find anything non WoW related in here. And thats not knocking the wow posting, its obviously a dominant game, just sucks for some of the smaller contenders. I wonder if people are intimidated from posting about anything else.
Just thought id throw it out there.

Is it a matter of having your own subforum, or the potential audience? If there aren't a lot of people playing other games, making a seperate forum isn't going to make those people appear. Perhaps a WoW discussion forum would be more appropriate so that General Discussion can remain about general multiboxing topics, but without so much of the WoW clutter.
Then again, we have WoW PvE and PvP, so I guess those already exist.
Sorry about the situation, but the nature of the biz is that most people play WoW.

Yep not a big deal bigfish, and up to a few days ago I was one of those wow posters lol. Just decided to look into other games kind of opened my eyes.
The situation is likely fine as is.

Yeah, no worries. It's more a matter of organization. Getting a sticky up there with some basic info and maybe some links to wiki pages and/or posts with solid info will likely solve a lot of the issues. I'll see what I can put together if anyone even thinks it's worth the time investment. {Never gonna get my guild to level 30! lol}

We tried seperate subforums for software and got mixed reviews (about half/half) for and against the added subsections. So we're trying to shy away from subsections as much as possible.
It might be nice to add Prefix'es ala the software forum (i.e. [WoW], [EQ], [EQ2], etc) in order to make for better searchability, though.
