So, my 5box Deathknight team is now lvl 71. And not being a WoW genius, I'm not completely up to speed on the party xp penalty...

It seems like it is taking ALOT longer to level my team than it has to lvl my 80s solo.

Is it worth multibloxing in party to 80, or would it be faster to individually lvl each toon to 80, and just have my 4 other dks follow for gank protection?

Thanks in advace to those that reply.

I'll take less time to level em all up together then soloing each one at a time.
When yer soloing yeh end up getting more exp from kill quests then when yer multiboxing .

What I do is when I have rested state run some instances till I burn off the rested state then run quests afterwards.

Make sure yer parking yer chars at an inn :P

While (at least in my case) it is slower to level my 4 or 5 box teams then it was to level solo, it was not faster then leveling 4 toons solo one after another.

1 toon 70->80 3 days (or whatever the number was)
5 toons 70->80 10 days

See?

Also questing is crazy fast XP and yields crazy gold. If you are not questing you are doing it wrong.

What I do is when I have rested state run some instances till I burn off the rested state then run quests afterwards.
I did this with my very first character. It took me 23 days to 60. Now, granted, I did a LOT of PvP during that time, it was still a solid 18 days of leveling. Subsequent toons were done in half the time.

You have the same amount of rest whether you kill stuff in or out of instances. Instance kills (elites in general) are worth more then outside (non-elite) kills. So in an instance you will burn through your rested XP faster. But! When you quest you are getting both quest XP and the XP from killing stuff on the quest. Quest XP (I am fairly sure we all know) does not count against rest. So when you quest and kill you actually push your rest out further. This means you rest lasts longer which equates to more XP an hour because the XP you will get from an hour worth of quest is greater then what you can gain from an hour in a dungeon. That increases even more when you are getting rested XP while questing.

Now, should you never ever run an instance? Of course not. You want to run them for drops, for instance quests, because you are tired of the outside world and questing. To run instances to burn off rested XP and then go quest is the wrong reason to run as instance, it is not the most efficent way to level - if that is what you are going for.

If its taking you 5x longer to level your 5 characters together than it took you to level 1 character, you're doing something seriously wrong...

Its pretty basic math, if it takes you 8 hours per level to level a solo character, then unless it takes you more than 40 hours per level to level your 5 characters while multiboxing then its faster to level them together.

other than collection quests, leveling 5x at a time can go faster than leveling 5 sequentially. so yeah, the per kill exp goes down, you kill that much faster, and get exp on 5 toons. I have multiple teams so I try to level each one differently to avoid the monotony. I leveled 3 separate teams to 60 3 different ways, well 2 were both questing, but I did mostly different quests. The third team was boosted.

What I would do, is quest as normal, but drop any collection quest (unless you really care for whatever that quest leads to) and make up the lost exp with a couple instance runs. I plan on alternating teams with rested exp, so one of em is always full rested.

leveling 5 together means you split the experience per kill. thats pretty much it.
seems slower?
imagine doing five characters separately. imagine having them walk/run/fly/ride to the quest destination 5 times.
leveling 5 at once would be extremely faster since you only have to go to your quest destinations ONCE, even if you get 1/5 exp per kill per character.

saweett, thanks for the replies.... the gathering quests were killing me ;p so I'll drop them and pick up some instances in the meantime.
