Ok due to the completly broken pvp aspect of the game, I've decided to shelve my 4 shaman's and am now working on a paladin and 3 druid team. My question is, how far can I expect to get, dungeon wise, with only a 4 man team?
I'm pretty certain most of the pre 60 instance content can be 4 manned but what about OL and Northrend?

Edit: This probably belongs in the PVE section come to think of it.

I have cleared almost all TBC dungeons with 4 (some of them with 3) man group, and without any high lvl "booster".. I got my first northend boss down last night @ UK (2nd time i tried to run northend insta, first was Nexus), Prince Keleseth was piece of cake, Skarvald and Dalronn almost down but after 2 wipes it was time to logout and try later on again.

My team

72 DK
71 Shaman
71 Paladin
73 Lock

edit: And I ofc did all the dungeons at "correct" lvl, max 1-2 lvl over recomended.

You can eventually 4 man all the non-heroic instances and even many of the heroics. I 4 manned a few heroics (culling, gundrak, violet hold) a few weeks ago because I was hoping to drag my ungeared DK through when he hit 80 and wanted to practice, but I haven't played much since then and he is still level 65 (lol). You will need however to be fully geared out, all my guys are in naxx10/25 level gear.

For non-heroics you can definitely 4 man them, during the lunar festival stuff I solo'd nexus and UK on my prot pally when he was at 80, you just have to level up enough so the instance is easy mode.

I basically 4 manned it till I hit woltk managed to do nexxus and Utgarde Keep

pre-bc stuffs a cake, once I hit bc I had to either outgear or 2-3 levels over the instance level to be able to finish the instance in a reasonable amount of time or else it wasn't worth it, took to much time to run for the exp yeh get.

Any instance boss that's a dps race yer gonna be hurting with only 4.

Having that fifth char really helps :P

Thanks for the replies people. Given me some hope :)

I'm going to instance boost my team through the pre 60 content since may as well make the most of the RAF bonus. (Had to buy 2 new RAF accounts, since i completely screwed up my RAF the first time round). I'll probably start going it alone once I hit outlands.

Also, worst case finding 1 PuG runner won't be that hard. Just tell him master looter will be on and you will let him loot from bosses if he has a need and you don't.

Id say to just take a dip into that fifth account :D

I would look to get a fifth account or just expect to need serious over-gearing for heroics (which will probably be achieved by solo boxing different toons until you have the goods).

Personally, I would not count on having a PUG for your fifth. If you have a friend that wants to run with you, consistently, then that could work. However, I think with trying ton include a PUG you're missing on one of the greatest things about multiboxing: freedom. I love taking instances at my own pace, not caring about wiping when trying a new strategy, and looting everything. If I ever include a non-friend PUG, and to a certain degree a friend who knows I multibox, the stress level goes up quite a bit and I feel like I need to try and go at a regular groups pace.

With a tank+healer+2x dps, just about any instance can be four manned upto WotLK instances.

Some are just a bit harder then others for multiboxing and such.

Just make sure the instance bosses are around your level, not like 3+ levels above you. And make sure your tank has decent gear and healer a lot of spirit/intellect for his/her level. :p

Agreed on the PUG thing. DONT DO IT!!! I like to take my time as well, I did AN with my team last few nights and getting the strat down on your own which I do now is not too bad. I do have 5 though tank, healer, DPS so its not too bad for me. And tank is 80 with epics/blues on him so he can survive on his own no problem. I have a friend that only has one account, well 2 but he uses only his healer as his main and every time he use to come with me he get me killed and complain about how slow we where going, so its not worth it to bring one other person that will complain about how you play. But if you do have a good friend or you will be pugging I suggest you lay down the rules and if the other person is not gonna listen well then they dont need to be in there with you. Also had another friend that has a DPS and he likes to go crazy and all out DPS which gets him killed every time since my healer is mainly concerned with keeping the tank up and I do not have a macro set up to heal everyone else. Having shaman and 1 healer is nice since if the team takes damage its time to chain heal ftw!!!
