I'm about to get my pally to 80 and start doing some heroics. First of all i want to get it crit immune, or as close as possible. I believe the def rating in need is 535 for simple 5 mans.

Does anyone know any guides online or can recommend some items i should look into buying/grinding to help me do this as quickly as possible.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers :)

The Maintankadin website has a lot of good stickies that should explain a lot. A good gear link to start with is the Consolidated Gearing Guide ('http://maintankadin.failsafedesign.com/viewtopic.php?t=19656') sticky. I also suggest reading up on the WotLK Mechanics ('http://maintankadin.failsafedesign.com/viewtopic.php?t=15212') sticky to explain a lot of the theorycrafting behind why you should be using certain threat rotations and gear.

And, yes, 535 defense is the min for heroics (5-man) because the bosses are only level 82. You'll need 540 for any 10-man/25-man raiding.

EDIT: Several edits. Forgive me, not feeling well today.

crafted gear and enchants will easily put you above what you need. you'll then be able to quickly upgrade for heroic epics. dont be scared when you see your def dropping. itll happen, itll bottom out, then youll start climbing back up. just put focus on gems/enchants on def until you get above where you dont need it. also, try HoL (regular) for the def trinket Loken drops. thatll be a huge help for you.
